Final Fantasy 4 Walkthrough

1. Baron Castle

This is where your journey begins. From the point of exile, go down a bit and to the wall where the soldier is. Press the switch behind him and then go into the room and grab some free treasure. From this point, head out and all the way to the left, and outside. Go immediately left into the stairwell and Rosa will stop you and talk for a bit. After she does, keep heading down and you will be outside. Proceed upward to the castle tower and you will be stopped by Cid, whom will ask about the use of his airships, which he is concerned about. Head up to the tower, talk to the blanket lady, and head up the stairs into Cecil's bed, which will prompt him to think over his actions. Rosa will soon show up, a look of concern on her face and worry for the exiled Cecil and Cain. After you wake up, a sequence will begin and you'll meet up with Cain and the two of you will head out.

2. Town of Baron

There isn't much to do here but buy a few Heal Potions and Cures if you'd like, as your guys are fairly well equipped already. Go ahead and spend some time talking to the townsfolk and then leave and head northwest to the Cave of Mist.

3. Cave of Mist

This is an extremely straightforward place, just make sure that along the way you grab the tents and potions and gold inside of the chests, and make your way to the northeast corner of the cave. The Mist will begin to gather and if you press on, you will encounter the Mist Dragon. Guess this can only mean one thing for your guys...BOSS FIGHT!!


450 HPMist Dragon

Have Cecil do the primary attacking, while Kain Jumps repeatedly. After a bit, the Dragon will assume a Mist form. When this happens, DO NOT ATTACK IT, otherwise the Mist will blow back on you for decent damage to your entire party. When the Dragon is in its Mist form, heal your party if need be. Otherwise, just hold your place until he begins to change back, and then commence attack again.

4. Village of Mist

After defeating the Mist Dragon, head out and you'll be outside, to the west of Mist. Go there and see what the King had planned for Mist. After the fire that erupts, only one little girl is left standing and alone, but according to Cain, since she is of Summoner origin, she must be killed as well. This sets off Cecil, whom questions Cain, but not before the girl gets scared and calls for her Titan to protect her. In the ensuing melee, the town is destroyed, Cain is gone, and Cecil is left with the little girl. Help her out - take her to a town and rest. Kaipo in the northeast seems like a good place.

5. Town of Kaipo

Upon arrival, head directly to the inn. The innkeeper will let you hold the little girl up there for free and you can rest as well, so go. During your slumber, a group of Baron guards with their officer (no doubt alerted by Cain) arrive and are under orders to kill the little girl. This doesn't sit well with Cecil, whom elects to do battle. This is an easy fight, just kill the attacking guards and then attack the officer, he'll retreat soon enough. After this, Cecil will apologize to Rydia for what he's done to her town and mom, but she sees that he protected her, so she's pleased and moved by his show of faith and now joins the party.

6. Find the sick Rosa

While in the town, talk to the townspeople and you will hear of an old man blocking the waterway in the northeast, someone named Anna running away with her lover, someone searching for this Anna person, and someone arriving from Baron and in bad shape. You will also hear that this someone from Baron that's in bad shape is in a small house in the eastern section of town, so go to that little house. In the house, go up, and........Rosa is there, but ill. Talking to the servant, you find that she needs the SandRuby to recover, but it is held in the lair of the Antlion. Rest up again, and head out.

7. Desert and the Underwater Vein

Take a moment to fight in the desert, and place Rydia in the back row. She'll build her levels up at a decent rate...I recommend you fight around here until she's around level 10. Once this is done, go back into Kaipo, rest at the inn, buy a tent or 3, then head northeast and in some mountains to the Underwater Vein. Use a tent outside and save your game, as the monsters in here are fairly fierce, but nothing that you and Rydia couldn't handle. Go in, and take the few chests that are in view, then go to the old fellow that is in the way. At first, he won't let you go, but he'll see that Cecil is a Dark Knight and will ask for his help in finding his daughter, whom has ran off to Damcyan to the north...while introducing himself as Sage Tella. Go ahead and accept, now you've got a new party member with some decent magic skills. After Tella joins, work your way north and to the east, collecting the chests along the way...again, this is also a straightforward place. Go into the tent room and Tella will use one of his (FREEBIE!) and the party will rest. Tella will explain what his motives are for coming this was, as well as find out more about Rydia from Cecil and the quest for the SandRuby. After this is done, save your game on the save spot and continue through, north, east, and then north again to the outside of the Vein. Tella will inform you that the Octomamm is just ahead.

8. Water Cavern

Enter the Waterfall, and this is VERY straightforward, so collect the treasure chests along the way and make yourself down the water automatically. Upon emerging from the waterfall, head west and then a bit north to the watercrest. You will be surrounded by tentacles from all sides, and Tellah will announce the appearance of the Octomamm, which can only call for two words....BOSS FIGHT!!!

2350 HPOctomamm

Cecil should fight, and not bother with the D.Wave at all. Conserve his energy. Most of them you connect with a good attack, he will lose a tentacle and slow down. Have Rydia call the chocobo constantly. Tellah should heal when necessary and innovate some of that sweet sweet BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with Lit over and over. Continue with this and the octopus will eventually give up the ghost. Go outside, use a tent, and save.

9. Damcyan

Walk to the castle, but HOLY SH*T the place is under siege by the Red Wings, who lay waste to the castle! This can't be good......so when you go in, the place is in ruin and soldiers lay all over, some deceased. Make your way to the top and you will see Anna, Tellah's daughter laying. Walking to her, Tellah is beset by the presence of her suitor Prince Edward of Damcyan, who is promptly attacked by an enraged wizard. A fight ensues, and is only broken by the words of Anna, who tells her father that her and Edward were happy as a couple, but fleed because of Tellah's refusal to consent to their being together. Edward drops a hint of a Golbez, who is behind this sudden show of force by the King of Baron. Tellah, enraged, sets out despite the party's wishes and leaves. Upset, Edward cries, until Rydia talks sense into him and Cecil asks for his help. He then joins, and upon hearing of Rosa's condition, gives the party a hovercraft they can use to get the SandRuby.

10. Antlion's Cave

First, use the hovercraft and head back to Kaipo to stock on potions and tents. Feel free to level up again, I recommend a party level around 15 at this point. Once stocked up, hop on your hovercraft and head to the Antlion's Nest, which is east of Damcyan in a cave (duh!). Enter the cave, collect the chests that you can, and just head south. Through two rooms, collect the chests and items, and don't be afraid to run from some battles if you feel the need to. Along the way, you'll get a new weapon for Edward, give it to him and if his levels are where they should be, he'll inflict some decent damage. Once in the bottom floor, head straight down and Edward will take the SandRuby. Oi, he gets chopped at by claws! Not a good thing, so help him and this is another......BOSS FIGHT!!!


1100 HPAntlion

Alright, you gots no Tellah for this battle, however it's still not difficult. Be wary of the Antlion's Counter which can do a good 35-40 points of damage. Cecil should fight, Rydia call the Chocobo, and Edward fight with his musical weapons. Rydia will also innovate some WHITE MAGE GOODNESS and heal the party whenever need by. Keep this rhythm up and the Antlion will give up the ghost. Afterwards, take the SandRuby, wonder along with the party why the Antlion attacked, and head back out. Use a tent, save, then head back to Kaipo with the SandRuby. Go to the room where Rosa is held, and when you use it, it heals her! Whoo! At first, Cecil is reluctant to allow Rosa to join, but along with Rydia, he is convinced otherwise and now you have a White Mage to help you! You'll learn that the next target of this Golbez is Fabul, which is eastward. While staying there, in the middle of the night, Edward will come out and be upset over the loss of his Anna that he will begin to play music to himself. At this point, he is beset by a WaterHag! This isn't a boss fight, just keep attacking as Anna eggs you on to fight, and the WaterHag will dissipate pretty quickly. Anna will tell you her final goodbyes, and stress to Edward how vital he is to the party. Heal up everyone, get Rosa a bow and some arrows so you can use her Aim command, and head north of Kaipo and eastward over the searocks past the Antlion's nest towards you next destination, Mt. Hobs.

11. Mt Hobbs

Here, the path is blocked by Ice. Rosa expects Rydia to cast Fire. However, given Rydia's past with Fire, she is VERY reluctant to do so, until Rosa convinces her of the greater need ahead. Rydia summons all she can.....and FIRE melts the ice to nothing! Now, she learns Fire, and you're on your way! Head up the mountain through the various stations, collecting what you see, until you reach the Summit. On the Summit, you'll see monsters attacking a series of soldiers, along with their instructor Yang! A battle ensues where Yang takes out the attacking monsters, however the big nasty bomb rolls towards Yang, and this doesn't sit well with the party, so in dramatic flair...BOSS FIGHT!!!

11,000 HPMombomb

Once in battle, Cecil will attack, Yang will fight, Edward will attack, Rydia will call the Chocobo, and Rosa will take Aim and heal whenever need be. After so long, the Mombomb will explode, however she gives plenty of warning, so HEAL as much as you can! When she explodes, it'll inflict a good amount of damage to everyone, so just hurry up and take out the remaining mini-bombs, which shouldn't be a problem. Keep attacking and keep the HP up and this will be over soon. Once this is past, Yang will thank you for helping him, and Cecil will explain Golbez and his plan to get the Crystal from Fabul. Yang shows a bit of hesitation, but is convinced of the danger ahead, and goes with the party to Fabul. Once off the mountain, use a tent and save the game before heading to Fabul.

12. Fabul Castle

From where you left Mt. Hobs head eastward going south and north when necessary, and you'll run into Fabul Castle. Use another tent and save, trust me on this. You're now in Fabul, so head directly to the King's room straight ahead. Yang will speak of how you helped him, and the King, noticing that Cecil is a Dark Knight, will hesitate at first, but understand the Golbez threat, and commission Cecil, Yang, and Edward to protect the Crystal. Rydia and Rosa will take the office of relief, and soon enough, the Crystal War will begin. Here's hoping you saved and used that tent, because here comes a string of continuous fights, between which you'll get NO chance to rest! Fight carefully with Cecil and Yang, and use Edward's Heal ability whenever necessary. No matter how hard you fight, you'll continually be pushed back into the throne room, where more battles will take place, and eventually you will end up in the Crystal Room. And inside, the Crystal will be there, however you'll confront.........Cain?! Cecil will try to reason with Cain, but to no avail, and you'll be drawn into battle with him, that no matter what you do, or how long you last, YOU WILL NOT WIN. After battle, Kain will try to end the life of Cecil, but before that can happen, Rydia and Rosa hop in and survey the damage, but not for long. Golbez makes his appearance here, and summons Kain to take the Crystal. Realizing that Rosa is a vital pawn in this game, she gets kidnapped by Golbez, who tries to stop him, but is futile in his efforts. After the departure of Golbez and Cain, Rydia heals the party and recovers them. After this, head to the Inn and rest for free.

13. The Morning After

When you wake up, head to the King's room, in the right tower outside the main foyer. In his room, he will allow the use of his ship, and give you a sword of Darkness, explaining that this sword is powerful, but will not defeat true evil. After equipping the sword, head outside of the castle and to the east harbor where the ship awaits. Talking with Ms. Yang, she'll wish you all well, and you'll set sail just as fast as you got on. Sailing for a while, you'll head different directions, until suddenly, the waves gather and throw the ship for a loop......and ultimately realizing that this isn't no sea storm, but the Master of The Seas, Leviatan! He makes himself known and hits the ship hard, causing Rydia to go overboard and in pursuit, Yang. The second slam knocks Edward for a loop, and the ship can do no more to avoid, but rather falls into the clutches of the Master of The Seas.

14. Wake up alone

Once you come to, and realize where you are, you'll flip and call out to everyone, but helplessly realizing that you're all alone. At this point, there's nothing you can do but make your way to the town that you made your mark in some time ago.....the magic town of Mysidia. Before going in, take the time to fight around here......it may take a while, but I'd go so far to say that level 25 is appropriate, higher if that's your fance. Since you're on your own, and your sword causes death to most enemies, it shouldn't take long to raise those levels. Or, you can wait until later.

15. Besieged town of Mysidia

This is the town that you laid waste to under orders from the King of Baron, however things are a little different, and now you're the one in dire straits. Go straight into the center of town into the main hall, and you'll come acrossthe Mysidian Elder, who will question your presence. Cecil at this time is a fairly remorseful and broken man, and the Elder will commission Cecil to climb Mt. Ordeals and become the Holy Knight, Paladin. However, many have tried, and none have returned, but Cecil, needing the help, agrees to the trial. This prompts the Elder to assign the Mysidian Twin Mages, Palom and Porom, who will assist Cecil. Don't be fooled by their appearances, because they pack quite the punch. Once they join you, the Elder will send you on your way. There is no need to dilly dally in the shops and whatnot, because none of the armor can be equipped by Dark Knights! Of course, if you've got the money, go ahead and spring for this Paladin armor...better safe than sorry. Of course, it's wise to stock on Soft and Heal potions. Talking with the townsfolk will reveal nothing more than contempt from them, and one of the black mages will show you the meaning of BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE by casting Toad on you. No biggie, just talk to him again to reverse the spell. Once you've looked around here, head out and follow the path towards Mt. Ordeals.

16. Chocobo Forest

On your way here, I advise you level up to 30 with Cecil, and have the twins around 19-20 or so. When you're following the path, and you come across a wide forest, Mt. Ordeals will be to your north, but you'll notice a round forest southward, that would be a Chocobo Forest. Go there, and instead of using a tent, find the white chocobo and have him restore your MP, then use Porom to cure everyone, then talk to the w. chocobo again. Whee, infinite MP and healing! Once you're done here, go out and build more levels or head northward to the mountain.

17. Mt. Ordeals

The mountain is like Mt. Hobs in structure, and just as straightforward. Lots of undead enemies here, so make sure you watch your fire spells here. A body of fire blocks your way, which Palom nixes in no time with an ice spell, and get a bit too boastful for his own good, hehehe. The game will cut to a scene aboard an unknown place where Golbez is lying in wait with Kain and the incarcerated Rosa. Golbez dispatches Milon Z, Fiend of the Earth, to eradicate Cecil. Kain whines about how he should slay Cecil, but Golbez dismisses his concerns and has him watch Rosa, to whom Kain boasts that he's better than Cecil. Now, back to the mountain. As I said, lots of strong undead enemies and villans who can stone your character populate the mountains, so here's hoping you got a good supply of healing and recovery potions. Making your way up the mountain, before clearing the first area, you'll run into Tella, whom the party surprises! He's out for blood, not to mention the legendary apocalyptic spell, Meteo. After conversing with him, he'll join you (PHEW!)a and you'll continue on your way. After 2 or 3 stations you'll come to the summit, where a weird feeling will come over the party, which is blamed on Palom. Moving further, you'll see a save spot, use a tent and save right there. Now, moving forward and before crossing the bridge to the sacred room, you'll be surprised by Milon and his Skullnants, whom plan to feed on you, and it's time for a...BOSS FIGHT!!!

3500 / 200 HPMilon and the Undead

Not too hard, just burn the Skullnants with Fire spells and attacks, and feel free to use Twin to take them out even quicker. Tellah should heal when necessary and pound on Milon with some Fire1 spells. Cecil should just stick to attacking Milon. When the Twin is up, use Porom as a secondary healer, and Palom innovate that oh so wonderful BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with some Fire2 and soon enough Milon will submit. Now, the party is free to proceed, however after that battle, don't you think you're spent? Well then, hurry back to the save point and use another tent and save. Now, this is funny, but reverse the party order so your front people are in the back and the back people are in the front. Why? Well, do this, and then head over the bridge. Walking, you'll be no more than a few steps.....and then Milon will reveal his true form and attack from behind, so yep...once again...BOSS FIGHT!!!

3523 HPMilon Zombie

Alright, cue the music and let's rock! Again, hopefully you switched rows so that way you won't get the brunt of Milon's attacks. Cecil will fight as normal, the twins will use the Twin attack and Palom will utilize that pure and wholesome BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with Fire2 and Porom will heal the party as needed. Tellah should be the party healer, curing poison and restoring life whenver necessary. This battle is a bit harder than the last, because of Milon's increased speed, however after continuous Fire2 spells and attacks, he'll begin his dissipation. Now, with him out the way, proceed to the Holy Room.

18. The Holy Room

Once you enter, a sequence will take place where Cecil will hear a voice call him 'My Son.' This befuddles Cecil, who is then told to accept the light and conquer his past from within. A light of hope will seemingly transform Cecil from the Dark Knight to the Holy Knight, however this change is short lived as the Past Cecil attacks the Paladin Cecil, resulting in an impromptu...BOSS FIGHT!!!

4000 HPDark Knight

You don't even need to fight! No matter what the Dark Knight uses, just defend. The voice of reason will talk about justice, and soon enough, the Dark Knight will cease to exist.

After the encounter has commenced, the light of hope will surround Cecil, and envelop him, thereby making him the Holy Knight, Paladin! Seemingly, the light has not only affected Cecil, and it shows...Tellah has now recovered the meaning of his lost spells....including the spell of destruction, the ultimate in BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE...Meteo! However, before leaving, Cecil will question the light, and its use of 'My Son'...perhaps soon enough, Cecil will find his answer. For now, head out and make it to the save point soon enough. If you bought the Paladin armor from Mysidia before you left, go ahead and equip it, then use a tent and save the game. From there, make your way out and down the mountain. Go ahead and use another tent and save if you'd like. A note about the Paladin: you start out at level 1, and after your first battle, you'll end up at level 6 or so! Of course, this doesn't last, and soon enough you'll be where you're at before. I would level up to about 18-20 before leaving the mountain area entirely. Feel free to spend time leveling Cecil up around the forest area, utilzing the Chocobo Forest as described previously. When you're satisfied, head back to Mysidia.

19. Back in Mysidia

Once back in town, talk to the Elder and all will be spilled as to the Twins' true purpose. Tellah will confront the Elder, who is alarmed that Meteo has been revealed. After this, the Devil's Road will be opened, so stock up on some supplies for Tellah, and with the twins in tow, head out and to the house on the right with the Devil's Road, and back to Baron.

20. Return to Baron

In here, you'll see a locked door that you can't get into on the left side of town. Likewise, the weapon and armor shops are locked as well. Damn. For now, go to the inn and you'll see none other than Yang! He's talking to some guards, and when you try to talk to him, they attack you! Dispense of them quickly and talk to Yang again, who will decide to follow suit, turning this into a...BOSS FIGHT!!!

62,000 HPYang

He's got lots of HP, but he goes down easy. Cecil attacks, Tellah uses his level-3 spells, you can also rely on Twin to inflict some good damage. Keep your HP up and he'll go down soon enough.

After the battle, Yang will give you the Key of Baron!

Now, go to those locked shops and open them up and buy some weapons for Yang. From here, head to that solitary locked door on the left and use the key to enter.

21. Raid on the Castle Baron

Head south, east, and then north, getting the chests along the way. The enemies in here are all susceptible to lightning, so don't be afraid to hold back and not use it. In the second room, there's a secret passage near the entrance, go through it to pick up three chests with an Ether, ZeusRage, and a HiPotion. There's not much in this room, so head out the top entrance, and through the next two straightforward rooms until you come to a door. Enter the door and see the save point. Before saving, head past the save point and through the middle of the right wall to get an Ancient Sword, but don't equip it because it's not as strong as your current sword. Rest and save, then head back out and north towards the exit. You'll end up behind the Castle Baron, now make your way west and then south until you see the entrance into the walls of the Castle.

Once in, I advise you make your way to Cecil's room in the left tower and rest. Once you rest, make your way back down and to the throne room. Before you get there, you'll see...Baigan?! He's glad to see you and you're glad to see him....weird, no? Well, he'll join your party (WHOO!) and accompany you to the throne room...but something's not right. The twins point out a bad acting job by Baigan, who has a present for Cecil from Golbez. Yay. Guess you'll see this present in a familiar fashion...BOSS FIGHT!!

4500 / 460 (left) / 460 HP (right)Baigan

Alright, we got a live one here! Whoo! Start off by attacking the body of Baigan. Spells are NOT advised as he will use the Wall to reflect them back at you, so stick to attacking the body with Cecil and Yang. Tellah should use Haste on Cecil and Yang to boost their attacks. Palom and Porom can use Twin to get through the Wall and damage Baigan, however you may kill off the arms, which will be regenerated. Just keep the attacks up and once his body goes down, the arms are a snap. Any level 2 or level 3 spell will do the trick for them.

Now, head back to Cecil's room and rest up again, then head to the King's Room. The King is there....but upset that you've become Paladin. Cecil wonders....but wait, King Baron throws his costume off, to reveal Cagnazzo, The Fiend of Water! He tells the party that Milon was no good for them, and decides to drown the party, and yep...you guessed it...BOSS FIGHT!!!

5400 HPCagnazzo

Surprisingly, this is one of the EASIEST fights in the game. Cecil will attack, as will Yang. Have Tellah and Palom innovate some dual BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE by using Ice3 and Lit2, respectively. When he gathers the water around himself, use Ice3 to penetrate it. Use Porom to keep the HP's up and soon enough, he'll fade into nothingness. After this battle, Cid comes in wondering who locked him up, and asks about the welfare of Rosa, not to mention exchange some fun dialogue with Tellah. After this, proceed out and prepare for one of the sadder moments in this game. Once this has passed, follow Cid and he'll show you a new Airship for everyone to use! Once the Airship leaves Baron, you'll see an incoming ship....and who's flying it, none other than the turncoat Kain! He tells you to retrieve the Earth Crystal in exchange for Rosa, and the party can do nothing but to oblige. Guess your next destination is Toroia, directly northwest of Baron over the mountain range.

22. Troian Beauty

There is a very small patch of land near the Town and Castle of Toroia. Land here and go into the castle. Head directly up into the castle and into the room of the eight Clerics. Talking to all of them will reveal that the Dark Elf took the Crystal and is holed up in a cave northeast of here, and that his cave has a metallic field, meaning that no metallic weapons can be used in there. Whoopee. For now, head out the left door, and to the bottom door. It's Edward! He wants to help, but can't. He's too ill to even try and move, but Tellah reassures him that they'll carry his load for him, and Edward gives them the TwinHarp as a substitute. Right now, let's get some supplies. Head back into the main chamber and out the right door, and head to the bottom door on the right. Go down the staircase to the right and you'll be in a room with 3 doors, open them all to get access to all the chests. Once you've pillaged these, head out the Castle but don't board your ship. You need something to land on forests....so walk directly north and head to the weird shaped patch of forest....it's a Chocobo Forest! Now, before going in, you may want to level up a bit...personally, I'd recommend your part be around level 35-37. Talk to a white chocobo to restore your MP, then use Cecil and Tellah to cure your HP, then talk to him again. Now, find one of those pesky black chocobos and talk to him, and you'll hear this VERY catchy theme as your chocobo takes off! Now, head east and over the river until you see the Cave Magnes. Land in the forest directly outside, and if you wish to use a tent or cabin, and save, and then level up out here, that's great. Once you're ready, head in.

23. Magnetic Cavern

Once you get in here, the magnetic field will take shape, and anyone with metallic weapons will be paralyzed. Well, here's why I wanted you at level 35. Every fight in here, RUN! The cave itself is straighforward, and there aren't any dead ends of note. Head over the bridge and to the ladder, and head up. In this room, take the right room to grab an Ether and 2000 gil. Out this room, head left and out this room. You'll see two doors, one of them has a save point, rest and save, it's highly recommended. Go out and to the left, over another bridge. Take the middle path and enter the door, and you'll come across a Fairy Claw for Yang - equip it. Head left and into the next room, which is full of candles. Take the right path across another bridge and you'll reach another save point, and I suggest you do so. Head out the save area and straight up, and you'll run into the Crystal Room, where the Dark Elf lies in wait. He threatens you, and that's never kosher, and despite the metal handicap the party faces, they get into it with the Dark Elf anyhow, who cripples the party with a series of spells into submission. He laughs and laughs about it....but wait, back in Toroia, Edward can't take this, and reaches for his harp! He begins to play a soothing melody...but it's not so soothing to the Dark Elf, who can't stand it....and mysteriously, it releases the metallic field over the party! Now, heal yourself and make sure all of your metallic weapons and armor are equipped, then go talk to Dark Elf again, who is enraged over this series of events...and draws you into a BOSS FIGHT!!!

23,900 / 3930 HPDark Elf / Dragon

You know the drill, have Cecil, Yang, and Cid attack. Tellah should keep the HP's up and use Bio whenever possible. The Dark Elf will use Whisper and Wind to try and confuse and drain the party, so watch out for that. After so long, he'll reveal his true form as the Dark Dragon! He's nothing, but uses his DragonBreath that shouldn't be a problem as long as your HP is above 500. Keep the HP's up, the attacks coming, and soon enough he'll give up the ghost. After this, take the Crystal from the altar, and once back in the cave, use Exit to warp outside to the mainland. Head for your black chocobo, and ride it back to the forest, in here use the white chocobo to restore your MP and HP, then head back out and south toward Toroia, but save the game before going in.

24. Back to Troia

Now, head into the Hall of Clerics and they will be happy to see the Crystal, but are stunned when the voice of Kain calles Cecil to the outside with the crystal. This throws the Clerics into a tizzy, but as promised, they lend you the Crystal, and one of them will tell you to take their treasure. Head out and to the room with the three staircases, and go down to where the lady was guarding the door, and talk to her, and follow the open path to the Toroian Treasure. There are 20 (!!!) chests with various goodies, hope you got room for them all! Head back to the Nurse's Room where Edward is lying in bed, and the party will thank him for his help. Now, head back outside to the mainland, but don't board your ship yet. Go into the town and buy potions and supplies, then head out and save your game. Now, board your airship.

25. Tower of Zot

Once on the airship, Kain will ask for the Crystal, then take you to the Tower. Make sure to grab everything you see, as you'll never see this tower again. Now, head to the top left, and grab the Flame Armor, and head to the next floor. You'll come across the Flame Sword, then make your way to the third floor. Just head to the door next to you and you'll be on the fourth floor. You'll see 4 rooms, so head to the top right to find a Priest Robe for Tellah. Head out and in the middle is an Earth Hammer, give that to Cid. Enter the next room to the left and you'll see a chest on the right with a HellClaw for Yang. Equip it and head left. At the bottom there's a chest with a Flame Shield, don't equip it yet. Head back to the room with the 4 rooms and go to the right. Enter through this door and you'll be on the 5th floor. The room before the middle room is a save room, so rest and save your game. Now, head into the middle and you'll run into the Magus Sisters - Sandy, Cindy, and Mindy. They'll tell you about a nifty little thing called the Delta Attack, and you can't let THAT get in the way, now can you? Yep, they're talking shit, and it's time to give them some toilet paper...BOSS FIGHT!!!

2600 / 4600 / 3000 HPMagus Sisters

Ready for the Delta Attack?! Sandy uses Wall on Cindy, Mindy attacks, and then Sandy bounces either Fire2, Bolt2, or Ice2 off Cindy and to one of your members. Yes, it's that lame. This is so easy. Just have Yang, Cid, and Cecil attack Cindy until she's toast, then attack Sandy, then Mindy. There's no need for BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE...unless after Cindy's gone, you want to be sadistic and use it to speed up the demise of the other two sisters. Keep attacking and have Tellah keep the HP's up. Now, heal yourself fully and continue into the next room.

In here, you'll see Golbez, but Tellah will snap and begin attacking him with various spells relentlessly, until he begins to chant the ultimate in BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE, Meteo. Cecil will try to calm him down, but Tellah is hellbent on giving his life to avenge his daughter and Edward, and downs Golbez with Meteo. It's only a temporary victory, but it costs Tellah his life. After this, the party will come across Rosa, and luckily rescue her as a blade comes scraping down! Whew!

Now, Rosa is back with Cecil, and Kain has come to his senses....but Golbez is gone, and Tellah slain by his own will. Kain explains how he wanted to keep Rosa close, but Rosa wants to be fighting partners with Kain. This is well, and the party of Cid, Cecil, Rosa, Yang, and Kain heads out.....but oi, they are stopped by an unseen force, who reveals itself to be Valvalis, the Fiend of Wind! She gets boastful about being the king of air fighting, which sets off a nerve in Kain, and thus ensues a BOSS FIGHT!!!

8700 HPValvalis

She's a wind fiend, and a tornado...well, what did you expect? She's quite the formidable opponent, but the key here is to KEEP KAIN IN THE AIR! Cecil and Cid should just attack, and when she's in her tornado phase, Kain with the Jump attack will stop her spin. Rosa should be in the back row and keeping the HP's up. Valvalis likes to use Petrify and Wind which will take a member's HP down to a few, so keep an eye out for that and heal accordingly. Eventually, the battle will be over and you'll emerge victorious.

26. Escape and Return to Baron

Now, head out, but Valvalis will talk about the mightiest of the four fiends still remaining, and self-detonate the tower! Yikes! Rosa will use Exit, and spring the party back to Cecil's room in Baron Castle. Kain will reveal some more info on Golbez, and hand over the Magma Key. Hmm, guess this could come in handy. For now, rest, and then head out to the outside, and the Airship will be back outside because of Cid's remote control (wish my car was like that!). Now, here's the deal...if you have other business, wish to level up, buy supplies, etc....DO IT NOW! Once you're ready, head south of Baron to an island with a small town and a mountain.

27. Way to the Dark World

This small town is Agart. The people here mention a lot about dwarves and a hidden world. Go into the center of town, and to the Well. Drop the Magma Key in the Well, and after a while, an explosion will take place....and go outside to see a GIANT HOLE in the mountains.

28. A Whole New World

When you get underground, immediately you'll be chased down by the Red Wings, who apparently are looking for a fight, or another Crystal, take your pick. Whee. After a while, the ship will land and you'll be outside a Castle. Wow, down here, eh? Go on in. When you enter, you'll see that the place is run by Dwarves. All of them telling you Rally Ho! and it makes them happy. Yay. Just walk on in and straight to the King, Jiott. Here, the party will explain to Jiott the scenario, Cid will leave the party and head to Baron for Airship repairs, and after a while, something will stir behind the walls of the throne, which will prompt Jiott to open the way to the Crystal Room. Walking into the room, the dolls will stir...and talk about how Golbez brought them to life to claim the crystal. Yay. And yes, you know what evil attacking dolls call for....BOSS FIGHT!!!

Okay, if you just attack the dolls, randomly, after a while, they will form the Calcobrena, which needless to say, can be repeated and make life miserable. So what to do? Attack the blue dolls solely. If you take them out, and then take the pink dolls out, they won't even form the big doll! So do that and just keep the HP's up.

Afterwards, Golbez will make himself known again, and the party will engage him in battle. Before long, Golbez will overcome the party and summon the Shadow Dragon, who will hold them in paralysis, leaving Cecil as the only living member...until the MistBreath comes and clears out the ShadowDragon! Golbez is shocked, as I'm sure you are...then Rydia appears! And it looks like she was responsible for the ShadowDragon's demise! Whoo! Oh yea. This skirmish has become a...BOSS FIGHT!!!

23,001 HPGolbez

After the ShadowDragon has been dispensed of, Rydia and Cecil remain alive. Feel free to revive the other members as necessary, then go after Golbez and keep up with the attacks. Soon enough, he'll fade into nothing. Good job!

Afterwards, Golbez will revive himself briefly and make away with the Dark Crystal. Damn. Back out to the throne and to King Jiott. He'll tell you to make way to the Tower of Bab-il and that the Dwarf Tanks will hold off the Red Wings so that you can get in. So, make you way to the lobby and head left and go into the shops. Buy a few Rune Rings and a Priest Hat or two. Make your way to the downstairs exit into another room with a few drunk dwarves and a lone dwarf in front of a door. Talk to him to go down into the basement where from here, you'll make your way out. Be sure to sip the healing pot before making your way out, and go ahead and leave the castle. You'll see yourself on the other side of the castle, so make your way west and then north until you come across the Tower of Bab-il. You'll be stopped at various points by the force of the tanks exchanging fire, so don't be daunted...just make sure to heal and save outside before going in.

29. The Tower of Bab-il

Now is a good time to equip those Flame weapons you got from the Tower of Zot, as most of the enemies in here are ice enemies. Make your way up and to the right to grab an Ether and a Green Beret. Head down, and go into the door. You'll see a chest, open it to force a battle with an Eye, who will call an enemy if you attack it. Take the eye out, then take out whatever enemy it calls. For winning, you'll receive the Blizzard Spear. Equip this and move on. Head right to the door and go in, where another chest with an Eye lies. Kill him and take the IceBrand, but don't use it. Move onto the next room. Take the left chest to receive a CatClaw for Yang. Head around and to the left door to the next floor. In this room go to the left to find a save point, and rest and save. Now, head back out and to the right. Enter the room to the bottom and fight another Eye to receive an Ice Shield. Head out and towards the top to another room, to fight yet another Eye and win the Ice Armor. Now, head to the top left and onto the next floor. In here, ignore the room in the middle and continue towards the top, picking up a Hi-Potion along the way. Here just go to the door on the left. In this next room take the right side and into a door to find a save point, save your game and continue on. Make sure to grab the Ether2 and head over to the left, where you will come across a mad scientist up to no good. Talking to him you will see that he's responsible for controlling the Tower, and will confront the party, resulting in a...BOSS FIGHT!!

The first hit Balnab will inflict is on Lugae, so consider that a freebie. Now, if you get rid of Balnab, Lugae will take control and form the FusedMecha, so just concentrate all your attacks on Lugae. Kain should Jump, Yang and Cecil will fight, Rosa will Aim and heal when necessary, and Rydia should inflict some SUMMONING MAYHEM by calling Ramuh. Just keep Lugae as your main focus and after a while, you'll topple him and Balnab! Of course, this doesn't sit too well with Lugae, and therefore transforms himself into something more vile, his true form! Now, watch for his PoisonGas and SleepGas which will stun your party, and he'll also respond with a Laser that could possibly kill one of your members. Just keep the HP's up with Rosa's WHITE MAGE GOODNESS and the same attacks and he'll give up the ghost. Now, with the Lugae Key, make your way back down to that locked door. Make sure to rest and save in that room along the way. Now, when you go in, three demons will set the SuperCannon to take out the dwarves, but the party intervenes! These are 3 Dark Imps, so just dispose of them. The Imps will then set off the Cannon for good, and Yang will throw the party out of the room and lock the door and sadly sacrifice himself to stop the cannon. Sadly, there is nothing you can do, so make your way out of the tower. Golbez will make his presence known, and start the collapse of the bridge, knocking the party out and falling and falling.....until Cid saves the day with his reformed Enterprise!

30. Return to Baron and the Hovercraft

Well, Cid rescued you, and now you learn that you need to infiltrate the Tower of Bab-il yet again, but you can't go from where you came, and now you need to get back to the outside world to try again. Cid tells you to head to Baron and get his men to help you, and he'll seal the hole with his bomb. So, head back to the crater in the northeast from whence you came, and head back out. Cid will jump off the ship, tell Golbez that he'll give his life to see the end, the mountain will erupt, and out you come shooting out and you're back in the mainland! Now, head to Baron. When you go in, you'll see two of Cid's assistants on the right. Head in, to the right, and out the door and you'll be in their area. Talk to them and they will attach a hook to the Enterprise. Once they're done, head out from Baron, and find your hovercraft. Remember? Yep, still outside of Mt. Hobs where you left it. Head there, and press your cancel button to pick it up. Now, take it to Baron...from Baron, head southwest until you see the Tower of Bab-il and the ruins of Castle Eblana. Yep, this is where you need to land, so release the hovercraft and then land. Ride the hovercraft to outside the cave, and rest and save. Go in.

31. Eblan Cave

These are one sided caves, so just make your way through the first section and head towards the bottom, grabbing the two chests. The next room houses no monsters, but the survivors of the attack on Eblan's Castle. Nothing here is worth buying, so just rest if you'd like, then head out south. Now you're in the Pass to Bab-il. Head to the north part, you'll see a wounded guard and he'll tell you that the Prince has went to the Tower alone. Go into the next room, and another wounded guard is there, along with a Shuriken in the chest. Grab it and head down into the next room. In here, go right to a hidden pass with two Elixirs. Come back and grab the three chests below the hidden passage. Now, head north and to the next room. You'll find a save point along with a BloodSword hidden in the secret passage between the two rocks on the wall, but you'll have to defeat the SteelGolems to get it, not a difficult task. Note to self - don't use the BloodSword on undead enemies, as you'll give them HP and lose your own! So, rest and save your game, then exit out and head up to where the Prince of Eblana, Edge, is attacking someone called Rubicant. It's all for nothing, as Rubicant makes short work of Edge and tells him to try again later. The party goes to Edge, of course to find out he's a silver spooned brat, but could be useful as his Ninja skills are above par. He'll join you and you will all go through the opening to wind up in...yep, back in the Tower of Bab-il!

32. The Tower of Bab-il revisited

Check some things here. Party should hopefully be in the high 40's for levels, and have Rydia and Rosa in the 2nd and 4th slots, with Cecil, Kain, and Edge in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th slots, with Rydia and Rosa in the back rows. Now, let's continue. Go near the wall and press Cancel. Edge will sneak the party in and BOOM you're in! Head over and around to reach a door. Follow the path south and go across the bridge to get an OgreAxe, but you gotta kill a few Ogres to get it, not a difficult task. Grab the Axe and head left to the door and go in. Head into the next door you see in this room. Now, go right and enter the door at the end of this path. In this room, the first door you see holds a save point, I recommend you use it. Now, go out and enter the next door to continue. In here, just head to the only door you see. Now head south and you'll see a few bridges. Ignore the longest bridge, and head to the three short bridges. The middle bridge here will give you 82000 gil. Head to the longest bridge, and now you'll see the King and Queen of Eblana...but they're not themselves...and attack! BOSS FIGHT!!!

60000 HP King Eblan, Queen Eblan

Well, Well, guess what? Just attack and keep the HP's up. After so much damage, they'll come to their senses, but sadly won't last long before expiring. They'll say their goodbyes to Edge, who will become enraged. Now, Rubicant, the Fiend of Fire and the last remaining Fiend, will appear and try to console Edge, blaming his parents' fate on Dr. Lugae. Edge isn't buying it, and with his enraged state, draws out the hidden power of Flood and Blitz. Now, make sure that Cecil has his Ice equipment on, and go talk to Rubicant and he'll heal the party automatically, then start yet another...BOSS FIGHT!!!

34000 HP Rubicant

This is actually an easy fight. Just attack with Cecil, Edge, and have Kain jump, with Rydia calling Shiva...but only when he's not hidden in his cape! When he's concealed, any damage that Shivan or any Ice element inflicts will heal him, so when his left leg is sticking out, he's vulnerable! When he's open, innovate that BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with Ice2 or Ice3 or have Shiva come out for some SUMMONER MAYHEM. Rosa should Aim with the Ice Arrows or show off the WHITE MAGE GOODNESS with Cure spells to keep the HP up and soon enough Rubicant will be gone.

When you enter the room above, you will fall into a pitfall dropping you to the floor below. In this next area, pick up a HIPOTION at the top and move on. In this next room just proceed to the top. Here you will be on the 6th floor. Continue down and to the right to the next room. In this next room at the end of a long bridge, Edge will come across...an airship?! Edge will take the controls and lovingly call it Falcon. When you gain control of the Falcon, head back to the Castle of Dwarves.

33. Jiott's Castle revisited

Now, talking to Jiott, he'll ask you to retrieve the last of the crystals, in the Sealed Cave to the Northwest. He'll ask Luca to hand over her necklace, which is also the key to the sealed cave. With this, you can go in and retrieve the last Crystal before Golbez does! Now, head to the center room and to the left to where the resting room is, to find Cid. He'll furnish the Falcon with heat-resistant siding for the lava. After talking to him, head out and to your Falcon, then head northwest of the Castle to the cave that is sealed off with a small patch of land in front of it, this is the Sealed Cave. I suggest you be around 50 if you are not there yet. Use a tent, save the game, and go in and use the Luca Key to open the way.

34. Sealed Cave

Every door in this cave is a TrapDoor - they will attack you and almost always kill off one of your members. Just keep attacking them and they'll die quickly. It's wise to keep a load of Life and HiPotions for this particular cave. Now, I'll ignore every battle with the TrapDoors, and hopefully you're at level 50. Now, head in and go south and then west and then north to the lone door. Defeat the TrapDoor and go into the new room. In here, go left and cross the rope to see another TrapDoor. Yea, you'll get annoyed of these things real quick, trust me. Kill him and in the next room, head south to the ladder, and go down. Now, go down through the rope walkway, and go up to the 2nd door from the right. Kill this TrapDoor and go in and grab the LightSword for Cecil. Now, go back out and to the fourth door, where after killing it, is a save point. And lord knows you need this, so rest and save. Now back out into the main room, head left and down to another TrapDoor, kill it and go in. Once in this new room, head to the left stairs and go into the middle of the room and ride the rope ladder down. Head right, kill the TrapDoor, and go into this room to grab an Ether2 and an X-Potion. Now, go back out and head towards the left and into the next room. Now, in here is a save point, so rest and save again. Keep heading down and ignore the rope ladders. Head around and over to the middle, and go into the center room. By now, you should be on the 5th floor. Go into the center room, defeat the last TrapDoor, and enter the crystal room and grab it. Voila, the Crystal is yours! Right at this point, it's my advice that you go to your menu screen, go to Config, and set the ATB mode to Wait, and your battle speed to 3 or 4. Now, head back out...but before you get too far, the ground will shake and you'll notice the walls closing in...yep, BOSS FIGHT!!!

28000 HP DemonWall

This is your hardest fight yet. The DemonWall will attack hard as he closes in, and when he's about mid-to-near-right on the screen, he'll use CrashDown to wipe out your characters one by one. Of course, you have to take him out before he gets close enough. Rydia should call Titan or utilize that BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with Bio. Rosa should cast Haste on Cecil and Edge and Kain and Rydia. Edge will throw all he can, and attack afterwards. Kain will Jump and Cecil will straight out attack. Have Rosa show that WHITE MAGE GOODNESS and keep the HP's up and hopefully, the Wall will go down before too long. Now, heal up and when you get back to the next room after exiting the Crystal Room, have Rydia cast Warp over and over until you're at the entrance. Now, make your way out....and that wretch Golbez will call out to Kain to return the crystal to him, but Kain won't listen to it.....yet attacks Cecil and talks about how with all the Crystals in hand, the path to the moon will now open. Kain turns on the party again and leaves with the Crystals. Nothing else you can do but to head back to the Castle. At this point, before heading back, you can get some help for Rydia. Save outside the sealed cave, and head a bit northwest to a small cave on an island. This is the Land of Summoned Monsters.

35. Land of Summoned Monsters

Immediately upon entering, use Float on the entire party. Now, head a bit south, then left, and up, then left again to the next room. In here, use Float on everyone again, then go right, and go up to the next floor. In this room, use Float on everyone yet again, and proceed to the grey portal. You will now be in the Town of Summoners.

36. Town of Summoners

Head south to pick up 6000 gil from a chest, and another 5000 gil. In the bottom section, there is a small bit of floor that is different from the rest, step on it to be warped to a single room with 4 chests. Loot them and go back to where you came from. Now, head back right and all the way up and left to another teleporter with a chest on the other side. Step on the teleporter and go the next floor, then step back and you'll see you're on the teleporter itself. Go down and grab the Rat's Tail from the chest, now step on the teleporter to the next floor. Head to the house in the upper left, where a save point is. Rest and use it. Now, head out, and south to the center of town, where a Chocobo is standing outside a building. This is the Library. Go in, and head up the staircase and through another portal. You'll be in the King and Queen's room. Talking to the man in the room will result in blind ignorance, so talk to the woman, who is Queen Asura. She'll agree to help Rydia...but first, they must test her will and strength, so say Yes when she asks, and this means...BOSS FIGHT!!!

32000 HP Asura

If you don't have the Wall spell, you're screwed. If you've been leveling up like I've suggested, then you're good to go. Cast Wall on Asura...and just attack. Everyone attack. Even Rosa. Straight out attacks. That's all. With Wall in place, Asura will resurrect, cure, protect your party, and all you have to do...is attack. Soon enough, you'll win...and receive the Asura call spell.

Now, head back to that save room in the upper left part of the floor, rest and save, and go talk to the ignorant old man, who will reveal himself as the Master of the Seas....Leviathan! Agree to be tested, and the waves will gather...yep...BOSS FIGHT!!!

51000 HP Leviathan

This one's gonna be tough. When Leviathan is stretched out, he'll use the Big Wave attack, resulting in anywhere from 600 to 1300 HP of damage. Cecil should fight, Edge should throw and fight, Rydia should call Titan and use Lit3, and Rosa should show the WHITE MAGE GOODNESS and heal/revive when necessary. This guy will take a while, but soon enough, he'll cough up the goods and once you win, you'll earn the Levia call spell. Now, head back out and have Cecil or Rosa cast Exit, to warp back outside. Now, head to the Dwarf Castle and go see Jiott. The party will be saddened at the loss of the Crystals...but Jiott will explain about the legend of the Big Whale, which sounds like...Mysidian Legend! Now, with this knowledge, and the fact that the upper and lower worlds are linked, head out, but Cid will appear again, and furnish a drill for the party to head outside to the Upper World. Now, head to the crater and head back up.

37. Odds and Ends 1 - Getting Excalibur

Now once outside, there are a couple of things we can do before heading to Mysidia. Let's go to where the Enterprise is, near the ruins of Eblana, and land the Falcon, and board the Enterprise. Use the hook to grab the hovercraft, and head to the town of Mithril, south of Fabul. Land the hovercraft and Enterprise, and take the hovercraft to the small cave nearby. In here, the man will not talk to you unless you have a Rat Tail. Give him the one you have and in exchange, he'll give you the Adamant Ore. Now, head back to Enterprise, and fly back to wher you left the Falcon, by Eblana. Board the Falcon and head to the hole by Agart, and head down to the Dark World. Once back in here, go immediately south and you'll come across a little place. This is the home of Kokkol, the legendary blacksmith, who when you enter, seems to have lost his touch. Talk to him, and give him the Adamant ore. This will revitalize him, and he'll take the Legend Sword from you and now, you'll just have to leave while he goes to work. Leave, and head back out to the Upper World.

38. Odds and Ends 2 - Getting Odin

There is one more summon spell Rydia can acquire before heading to Mysidia, but it's a doozy. Head to Baron and land, and go into the castle, and make your way to the Right Tower. In here, keep heading downstairs and you'll see a long path, go right and head down the stairs at the end. In this room, you'll see a vacant throne...and who should appear but King Baron! He tells you that he can help you, but he'll need to test you first, and he'll attack as the legendary Odin! BOSS FIGHT!!

21000 HP Odin

You have 60 seconds to defeat him. Yep. 1 minute. If you do not defeat him in one minute, he'll use the Z-sword attack to inflict around 6000 HP, killing your entire party. He's got one weakness...lightning. So have Rydia use Lit3, Cecil attack, Edge throw what he can, and Rosa Aim. By this point, you should be at 50 or above, so he may not even be much of a problem. Once you've won, King Baron will give Rydia the Odin call spell. Now, go back out, rest and save if you'd like, then head back into the Falcon and go back to the Dark World. Head south to Kokkol's Smith Shop and go see him, and he'll reward you with the Excalibur sword, which is way stronger than your current sword! Equip this, and head back outside, and to the Upper World to Mysidia.

39. Securing the Legend

In Mysidia, the Elder will greet you at the gate upon walking in, and take you to the Praying Tower. With the wishes of the Mysidians, they resurrect the chosen ride to the Moon....the Big Whale! After the Whale reveals itself, the Elder will tell you of a voice he heard...so hop in the Big Whale, and look around a bit! Going to the center panel at the very top and pressing your confirm key will enable you to pilot the Big Whale like a regular ship! At the very bottom is a Fat Chocobo who will store your goods, and in the middle are sleep compartments for a quick rest whenever you need it! Now, let's talk to the Crystal of Flight in the middle...and head for the Moon!

40. The Lunar World, a.k.a. Moon

Interesting, um....digs here on the moon. Flying over for a bit, you'll notice several caves, a cave surrounded by a huge circle of rock, and a giant Crystal Palace. Well, first things first, let's see what that voice calling you from the moon was. Land a bit east of the Crystal Palace, near a cave. Now, rest if you need, save if you'd like, and head into the cave. This cave doesn't have much in here, except for a couple of chests, one of them to the right of the entrance giving you a Golden Apple after a battle with Procyotes and Juclyotes, whom given your current levels, shouldn't be a problem. Head north and to the exit. Now, you're back on the mainland. Head a bit southeast to the next cave, and just head south to the exit. Now, you're in view of the Crystal Palace. Head west to the Palace and enter.

41. Mysteries revealed

Here, to the left and up, is a spot that will recover your status and HP. To the right and up is an MP recovery spot. Use these if you'd like, and head into the center of the building. A light will flash, a voice will welcome you, and before you is the Lunarian Sage, FuSoYa. He will explain how Zemus came to be, and how him and his brother KluYa went to the earth, but the people were still evolving, so they created another Moon and kept sleeping. KluYa gave the people of the earth the idea of airships, and fell in love with an earth woman, giving birth to two kids, one of them being...Cecil. So that's who the voice on Mt. Ordeals was. Wow. Now, the old sage explains about the Giant of Bab-il, and how he can seal the Giant before it's too late, and he joins you as a 5th member! Now that he's joined, step on the recovery spots if you haven't done so, and save the game outside. Now, make your way back through the Lunar Passages to the Big Whale...but don't head back to the earth just yet.

42. The King of Summons

Take flight of the Big Whale (center switch on top) and head to the cave that is surrounded by a circle of rock, and land on the circle of rock above the cave entrance. You'll see that you can walk down and to the cave entrance. This is the Cave of Bahamut. Once inside, head down and to the right to snag a Genji glove for Cecil, and head back up to the little blurry passage in the upper right, go here to find a Genji Shield for Cecil as well. Now, enter the opening to the next room. In here, head up and to the left to grab a Genji Helmet and Genji Armor. At this point, make sure everyone is healed up, because when you walk in the middle path, you'll think it's a random battle, but it's got different music and it's a big nasty Behemoth, so put 2 and 2 together...BOSS FIGHT!

23000 HP Behemoth

Now, this is so easy. This boss never attacks on his own...he just counterattacks. One thing - don't use magic. If you use Magic on the Behemoth, he'll put the party under a Wind spell and cripple everyone to low HP. So, just attack with Cecil, Edge will throw and fight, Rydia attacks, Rosa Aims, and FuSoYa keeps the HP up. After long, he'll go down.

Now, heal up and proceed north to the next floor. In here, head down into the long winding path, and you'll end up fighting a total of two more Behemoths, just use the same strategy, healing up after each Behemoth battle, and you'll reach the throne of the King of Summons, Bahamut. He'll talk about how you must be strong to face him, and that he'll put you to the test. Gee. BOSS FIGHT!!!

46000 HP Bahamut

Well, here's what happens. Bahamut never attacks you on his own. Yay! He counts down to 5 and uses the MegaFlare that will scorch you for over 6400 HP. Yay. So how to avoid this? With FuSoYa and Rosa in your party, spread that WHITE MAGE GOODNESS by casting Wall on as many members as you can before he finishes his countdown, with Rosa and FuSoYa taking priority. Whomever has Wall up, will reflect the MegaFlare back on him. Whomever is uncovered, will most likely be toast. Just keep Wall up on your living characters, attack when feasible, and let him burn himself into limbo. Once you've won, you'll gain the Baham call spell, which is the most devastating call spell in the game, inflicting a good 7000-8000 HP of non-elemental damage.

Whoo! Use Exit and head out of the cave and back to the Big Whale. Go inside to the resting compartments, take a nap to restore your health, MP, and status, then go back outside and save your game. Here's hoping you're ready, because once you get back, you're on an automated road through hell! Talk to the Crystal of Flight to begin your descent back to the earth.

43. The Giant of Bab-il is alive!

Once you've gotten back to earth, you'll appear outside the now defunct Tower of Bab-il, which is beginning to generate public enemy no. 1, the Giant of Bab-il, who begins by letting out circles of flame all over the mountains...or around him, take your pick. Anyhow, this goes on about another minute, and the party wonders what they can do....when the Dwarves interfere on the party's behalf...along with Yang, Palom, Edward, Porom, Cid, and the Mysidian Elder! They're all using warships and tanks to stun the Giant, whom is reeling and shocked. Cid lands his ship by the Big Whale, and takes the party into the mouth of the Giant!

44. Inside the Giant

From where you start, head up to reach the Neck. Now, go through this path to the Chest area. To the left, you'll find a Shuriken. Take it and head down and grab the Ether and proceed to the top exit. Now ou're in the Stomach. Head up for a Silver Apple, then down and to he right, and back up for a Soma Drop. Head left to the Passage and up to the save points, but don't use a Tent, just use Magic to heal your characters and then save. Proceed upward to the Lung area. Now, head up the long pass...but in the middle, you'll be stopped by none other than the Four Fiends! They will all taunt you, tell you how Zemus gave them life, and how you're gonna die.

Phun.

Before engaging them in battle, Rubicant being the gentleman, will heal your party beforehand, and encourage you to fight with all your might. I like him. Shame that you gotta kill him. BOSS FIGHT!!!

110000 HP The Four Fiends

Well, they're all stronger, but hell...so are you! Key thing is to keep Rosa using Cure3 nearly EVERY ROUND. FuSoYa should alternate between Flare and Cure3. With Milon: Watch out for his Fire spells that can wreak havoc and Poison attacks. Have Rydia and FuSoYa innovate that pure and wholesome BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with Fire3 and Flare. Edge should use his Flame magic, while Cecil attacks and Rosa keeps the HP up with her LEET WHITE MAGE SKILLZ. With Rubicant: He likes Fire more than Milon. Remember, open cape good, closed cape bad. Edge now should use Flood, Cecil keeps attacking, and use Haste on him as well. Rydia should switch gears to Ice3 and summoning Shiva, and FuSoYa alternates his Cure3 with Ice3. With Cagnazzo: Rydia uses Lit3 and Ramuh, even Bahamut. FuSoYa changes to Cure3 and Lit3. Watch for the Big Wave, he'll use two of them in succession and cause you big headaches. Edge goes Blitz on him, and Cecil fights, while Rosa heals. With Valvalis: Cecil fights with Haste, as does Edge. FuSoYa uses Flare and Holy, along with Cure3. Rosa should use Cure3 and Holy if she has it, and Rydia calls Bahamut. Beware of Maelstrom, which is a wide Wind attack that will bring everyone's HP down to 1. Use Cure4 IMMEDIATELY. Eventually, she'll finally submit and the Fiends will dissipate.

Phew!

Now, head back to the save point, and now you can use a Cabin to restore your health and magic, then save your game again. Now, head up again to the Lung area and into the Core. In here, the alarm goes off, and FuSoYa tells you to take out the Defense System first. Go to it then, grasshopper! BOSS FIGHT!!!

Okay, first of all, magic isn't necessary at all. Yup. Now, secondly...do not kill off the Attacker or Defender first. If the CPU is left alone, it will use Globe199 to resurrect the Attacker and Defender...at two of your allies' expense. Therefore, focus your personal attacks on the Defender first. After a short bit of attacking from EVERYONE (yes, everyone), it will die. Now, focus your attacks on the CPU only. This will take a bit longer, so use Haste on as many people as you'd like, then proceed with the attacks. Once he's done for, focus on the lone Attacker, and soon enough this battle will be over.

Whee!

After the CPU has imploded itself, Golbez will make himself known....but what in the....FuSoYa recognizes him, and brings Golbez to his senses....and asks him what his father's name is, to which Golbez replies...KluYa.

Ouch.

Crap.

Damn.

So all along, Cecil has been fighting his brother...not knowing whom was truly stained with evil blood for Zemus to use...and now, FuSoYa leaves the party, to head back to the moon. Golbez follows suit, to repay his debt to Zemus...but Cecil is stunned, too stunned to even talk...but now the Giant is collapsing! No way out, it seems...until Kain appears again and shows everyone the way! Edge is hesistant to follow, given Kain's knack for falling under control...but he tells everyone to yell at him later...and leads the party out of the collapsing Giant.

45. Back inside the Whale

Now, you'll appear back inside of the Big Whale. Kain will appear ready to accept the consequences for his transgressions...but they explain to Kain that it was not his fault, since Golbez was stained and being used as well, not to mention Cecil's brother all along. Kain joins you at this point, and Edge isn't too willing to trust Kain...but Kain tells him that if Kain slips, to take him out. Now, at this point, Cecil relieves Rosa and Rydia of their duties, and sends them off the Big Whale because of no guarantee of safe return. They reluctantly leave, and all that's left is Cecil, Kain, Edge...who take their places around the Crystal and head to the moon...and once they land, they head out, but out pops Rydia and Rosa! Cecil doesn't look too pleased to see them, but Rosa just cares about being with him, no matter what happens.

Awwww.

Well hell, 5 people is always better than 3, so take them and make your way to the Crystal Palace!

46. Crystal Palace to the Lunar Subterranae

Making your way into the caves and through the passages, get to the Palace, and use the healing spots to heal. I strongly advise you to be near level 60 now, as the enemies in the Lunar Subterranae are VERY strong. I would go so far to recommend your levels be near 65 or 70, even. Head past FuSoYa's throne and into the Crystal Room, where all of the Moon Crystals have opened the way to Zemus. Talk to all them to learn about the protective field and how it's been removed due to the destruction of the Tower and Giant of Bab-il. Now, stand in the center, and the Crystals will light your way to the center of the moon....the lights flash different colors, and a force will sweep Cecil and party from the Crystal Palace to the opening floor of the Lunar Subterranae. This is it, there's no looking back now!

47. Lunar Subterranae and Moon's Core

From where you appear, go to the left through a hidden passage and to the portal, and go through the door in front where you appear. Head left and enter the next portal, then go down and go in the door. You should now be on the 3rd floor, and in sight of a sword. Go and talk to it and you'll stir up a BOSS FIGHT!!!

32,768 HP White Dragon

Have Rosa cast Float on everyone, then that will keep them out of range of the Quake spell and just keep healing away. Rydia should summon Bahamut, Edge and Cecil attack, and Kain jump. Every attack on him will provoke a Slow casted on your members. Watch out for the Malestrom attack and just keep the HP up. For winning this fight you'll receive the Murasame for Edge.

Now, head back to where you first entered the Lunar Subterranae and from here, head up and to the right and into the secret passage and from here go all the way up, left, and down to find another treasure chest. Kill the enemies and get a DarkGear for Edge. Now head back around and go down into the next room. The chest on the left past the hidden passage has a FireWhip for Rydia, give it to her and head up and to the left, to get a Dragon Shield for Kain. You'll see a middle door, but don't enter yet. Move down and to the right through a hidden passage to grab a Dragon Helmet, further down is a Dragon Armor and to the left of that is a Dragon Glove. Give all these to Kain and head into the middle door. In this room pick up a set of Artemis Arrows from the right chest and head into the lower left room, which will have an Elixir. Back out, head right and down to the next room. In here, go up and to the left and around to the next door. Go for the chest with the Stardust Rod, but a Behemoth blocks the way. Kill him and give the rod to Rosa. Keep going to the right and to the pathway. To the right, you'll see a sword, but it's unreachable. Don't worry, we'll come back to it in a bit. Further down and to the left is another treasure chest. Give Rosa a bow and the Artemis Arrows. Open the chest and a Red Dragon along with a Blue Dragon will attack, but with the Artemis Arrows, Bahamut, Cecil and Edge's attacks, Kain's Jumping, and Rosa's Aim enhancement, the dragons will go down soon enough. Now, you've won the Crystal Shield. Cecil should equip this and move on. Head for the door at the bottom of the cave. In here, head to the right and take out the Behemoth guarding the chest, which has Crystal Armor. Again, give to Cecil. Now, go back in the room and head up and to the chest on the right. 2 Red Dragons are here, and they're guarding the Crystal Gauntlet. Cecil will equip this and head left into the next room. In here, you'll find a White Gown for Rosa, as well as a Crystal Helmet guarded by a D. Bone and a Wizard. Head to the room on the right. In here you'll find a Red Fang, take it and keep moving. In the next room to the left are a set of more Artemis Arrows. Head down in here to grab a Cabin, then head further down and to the right. There is a Minerva Robe guarded by 3 Karys and a Wizard, dispatch of them and continue. Move down and to the right, and go in the first door.

Yay!

It's a save point, and lord knows you've needed this, so use that Cabin and save your game. Now, head to the right and into the next room. You'll see a long weapon, touch it to set off this BOSS FIGHT!!!

34,000 HP Plague

He'll start the battle off with CountDown, which will give your party until the count of 10 to either die or kill him. Whee. Kain jumps, Cecil fights, Edge fights,Rydia calls Bahamut or uses Flare, and Rosa uses Holy. Hopefully, you'll kill him before the counter runs out. If not, and assuming you saved in the room prior, just try again. Defeating him gives you the HolyLance for Kain.

I advise you to return to the save spot and save your game again. Now, head out the room and to the right to the door past the Plague's Room. In here, once you walk in, you're beset by two Lunar Dragons, who are none too pleased to give you what you seek, so beat it out of them...yep, BOSS FIGHT!!!

24,000 HP Lunar Dragons

Attack with all you can, and have Rydia use Fire3. These critters like to use Wall on themselves, then bounce Bio off it and onto you! Don't use summon magic, as any summons seem to heal them, even Bahamut. Bummer. Just keep fighting, keep the BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE coming, and those all important HP's up. For winning, you'll have access to the two Ribbons. Give these to Rydia and Rosa and head back to save your game.

Now that you're rested and refreshed...remember that sword that was unreachable back a ways? Whatsay we go get it now? Yea! Backtrack your steps to the room where you got the Cabin in the lower left. In here, to the left of the chest is an invisible bridge. Go to the left and near the top in the middle of the wall is a staircase. This room is B6 and at the bottom you'll find a Golden Apple. Take it and continue to the right towards the portal. Head up the walkway into the next portal. Now, you're in B5. Head up into the next portal, which throws you into a save room. Rest and save your game, trust me. In the next area, you'll be near the sword that you saw earlier. Trying to grab it, provokes someone who's really pissed that you're trying to take this sword, and draws you into a BOSS FIGHT!!

61,000 HP Wyvern

This evil incarnation of Bahamut starts off the battle with the MegaFlare, without asking, without countdown. Crap. Most likely, unless you're near level 65 or 70, he'll take out one or more of your members. Then, he casts Wall on himself and bounces Flare attacks off him and onto you. Whee. Have Edge throw whatever he can, Cecil fight, Kain jump, Rydia attack with the Dragon Whip and Rosa show that WHITE MAGE GOODNESS by keeping the HP up for everyone. This is NOT an easy battle, but can be won. For winning this fight, you'll receive the Ragnarok Sword, the strongest weapon in the game.

Now, head back to the save point, save, then make your way back to the save room near where you won the HolyLance. From the save point, feel free to rest and save again if need be, but then head left, up, and to the right, and a bit down to the opening in the wall. Going in here will take you to the Moon's Core!

This room is made of nothing but Crystal. Ooh. All of the battles you run into here are all with Behemoths, Red and Blue Dragons, Evil Masks, Minds, and Breaths. Yay. There is hope....when in battle, just have Edge cast Smoke and you'll run from the battle. It's the only way, really. If you fight, just fight as you have and you'll gain good levels here. Now, grab any and all chests you see, they will consist of Shuriken and Fuuma darts and the odd Elixir or two. Now, make your way down and to the center towards the ladder to the next floor...but OOH there's a floating sword!

Now, how old are we? Haven't we learned by now that whenever you see floating swords, most likely they belong to someone (always a dragon or lizard of some sort, no less) and don't want them to be taken, and when YOU, the player, decide to be EVIL and take their sword, what happens? Yea, that's right, you get into a BOSS FIGHT and end up FIGHTING! Come on now, FIGHTING never solves ANYTHING! Of course, when you get the sword in your hands, you can inflict more damage, and that in turn allows you to kill quickly and efficiently, and that's........EVIL.

INDEEEEEEEED.

So, head over to that floating sword, and someone tells you that you can't touch the Blade of Black...and all of a sudden the water gathers, revealing the evil twin of Leviathan...and my personal hero...Ogopogo! BOSS FIGHT!!!

50,001 HP Ogopogo

He doesn't play around - starts right off with a double Big Wave taking off a good 1200-1500 of HP. And he'll also use the Big Wave in single fashions to shave off a good 500-700 HP as well. Edge should alternate between Blitz and attacking and throwing, Rydia should summon Bahamut and cast Flare, Cecil fights, Kain jumps, and Rosa calls on Holy as well as keeping the HP up. Soon enough, Ogopogo will submit (GO OGOPOGO!) and you'll receive the Masamune as a prize.

Head around and to the ladder, then head down. Keep heading down to the next portal while grabbing the chests in the area. In this new room, the portal is on the lower right, so head there. Now, there are no chests in this last area...just head towards the portal, on the lower left.

---The Final Battle---

Now, do check your levels before heading up to where the game takes over the story...I advise you to be at level 60 or higher. It's possible to finish the game at level 50, but is very difficult. In any event, proceed up and you'll see Golbez and FuSoYa having it out with Zemus. After casting a few spells, they will call upon the W. Meteo and decimate Zemus...who falls over.

Game Over!

Edge surprises them, and they talk about how Zemus was a good man, but stained with evil...and Cecil is still hesistant to talk to his brother...but not before Zemus stirs again...and becomes the epitome of evil and hate, Zeromus! He shocks everyone into submission, but Golbez and FuSoYa confront him in another battle. They use Meteo, they use everything at their disposal, but Zeromus shrugs it off. Golbez then uses the Crystal...but it's no use, because Golbez's Darkness eclipses the Crystal's light...and Zeromus uses his own Meteo and downs the uncle and his nephew. Zeromus is now in control, and will drag the world into eternal darkness...

...but this doesn't sit well with the twins, who along with the Mysidian Elder and everyone in the Praying Tower, begin to pray for Cecil and for the Moon to show it's power...and this brings Cecil to his feet, who goes over to his brother, Golbez. Golbez gives you the Crystal...now go to Zeromus and KICK HIS ASS!!!

110,000 HP Zeromus

WHOA that background is dizzying! The various friends in your quest will give you their life, strength, vitality, and hope, completely restoring your HP and MP and curing status effects. Once this is passed, and your party is ready to go, DO NOT FIGHT! Nothing will affect him in this big blue state...so keep parrying until Edge can steal a Dark Matter from him. You'll need this later, trust me. Now, have Cecil use the Crystal, which will break Zeromus' effect.....but revealing his true form, this big nasty monster that needs the righteus hell beat out of him! Zeromus has a myriad of spells that he uses, most often being Flare and Meteo, but they don't do the big damage one would expect, but his Flare can be crippling. More devastating is the Big Bang, where Zeromus changes the spin of the world and causes great damage to everyone in the process. However, if you have the Dark Matter like you should, this won't be too much of a problem. Now, Rosa can cast Haste on Cecil, Kain, and Edge to speed up their attacks. After this, she should do nothing but alternate with Holy on Zeromus and Cure4 over the party. Rydia should alternate casting Flare, and summoning Bahamut. Edge should throw whatever he can throw, especially swords and the Spoon Dart, if you have it. When he's out of things to throw, keep attacking normally. Kain should do nothing more than jump and jump and keep jumping. Cecil should keep attacking with the Crystal Sword. All I can say is, keep the HP's up with Rosa, and use Elixirs whenever necessary. This will take a while, but soon enough the lightning will flash, and Zeromus will begin his dissapation into nothingness.

Congratulations, you've done it! Now, sit back and enjoy the lengthy ending.

1. Baron Castle

This is where your journey begins. From the point of exile, go down a bit and to the wall where the soldier is. Press the switch behind him and then go into the room and grab some free treasure. From this point, head out and all the way to the left, and outside. Go immediately left into the stairwell and Rosa will stop you and talk for a bit. After she does, keep heading down and you will be outside. Proceed upward to the castle tower and you will be stopped by Cid, whom will ask about the use of his airships, which he is concerned about. Head up to the tower, talk to the blanket lady, and head up the stairs into Cecil's bed, which will prompt him to think over his actions. Rosa will soon show up, a look of concern on her face and worry for the exiled Cecil and Cain. After you wake up, a sequence will begin and you'll meet up with Cain and the two of you will head out.

2. Town of Baron

There isn't much to do here but buy a few Heal Potions and Cures if you'd like, as your guys are fairly well equipped already. Go ahead and spend some time talking to the townsfolk and then leave and head northwest to the Cave of Mist.

3. Cave of Mist

This is an extremely straightforward place, just make sure that along the way you grab the tents and potions and gold inside of the chests, and make your way to the northeast corner of the cave. The Mist will begin to gather and if you press on, you will encounter the Mist Dragon. Guess this can only mean one thing for your guys...BOSS FIGHT!!


450 HPMist Dragon

Have Cecil do the primary attacking, while Kain Jumps repeatedly. After a bit, the Dragon will assume a Mist form. When this happens, DO NOT ATTACK IT, otherwise the Mist will blow back on you for decent damage to your entire party. When the Dragon is in its Mist form, heal your party if need be. Otherwise, just hold your place until he begins to change back, and then commence attack again.

4. Village of Mist

After defeating the Mist Dragon, head out and you'll be outside, to the west of Mist. Go there and see what the King had planned for Mist. After the fire that erupts, only one little girl is left standing and alone, but according to Cain, since she is of Summoner origin, she must be killed as well. This sets off Cecil, whom questions Cain, but not before the girl gets scared and calls for her Titan to protect her. In the ensuing melee, the town is destroyed, Cain is gone, and Cecil is left with the little girl. Help her out - take her to a town and rest. Kaipo in the northeast seems like a good place.

5. Town of Kaipo

Upon arrival, head directly to the inn. The innkeeper will let you hold the little girl up there for free and you can rest as well, so go. During your slumber, a group of Baron guards with their officer (no doubt alerted by Cain) arrive and are under orders to kill the little girl. This doesn't sit well with Cecil, whom elects to do battle. This is an easy fight, just kill the attacking guards and then attack the officer, he'll retreat soon enough. After this, Cecil will apologize to Rydia for what he's done to her town and mom, but she sees that he protected her, so she's pleased and moved by his show of faith and now joins the party.

6. Find the sick Rosa

While in the town, talk to the townspeople and you will hear of an old man blocking the waterway in the northeast, someone named Anna running away with her lover, someone searching for this Anna person, and someone arriving from Baron and in bad shape. You will also hear that this someone from Baron that's in bad shape is in a small house in the eastern section of town, so go to that little house. In the house, go up, and........Rosa is there, but ill. Talking to the servant, you find that she needs the SandRuby to recover, but it is held in the lair of the Antlion. Rest up again, and head out.

7. Desert and the Underwater Vein

Take a moment to fight in the desert, and place Rydia in the back row. She'll build her levels up at a decent rate...I recommend you fight around here until she's around level 10. Once this is done, go back into Kaipo, rest at the inn, buy a tent or 3, then head northeast and in some mountains to the Underwater Vein. Use a tent outside and save your game, as the monsters in here are fairly fierce, but nothing that you and Rydia couldn't handle. Go in, and take the few chests that are in view, then go to the old fellow that is in the way. At first, he won't let you go, but he'll see that Cecil is a Dark Knight and will ask for his help in finding his daughter, whom has ran off to Damcyan to the north...while introducing himself as Sage Tella. Go ahead and accept, now you've got a new party member with some decent magic skills. After Tella joins, work your way north and to the east, collecting the chests along the way...again, this is also a straightforward place. Go into the tent room and Tella will use one of his (FREEBIE!) and the party will rest. Tella will explain what his motives are for coming this was, as well as find out more about Rydia from Cecil and the quest for the SandRuby. After this is done, save your game on the save spot and continue through, north, east, and then north again to the outside of the Vein. Tella will inform you that the Octomamm is just ahead.

8. Water Cavern

Enter the Waterfall, and this is VERY straightforward, so collect the treasure chests along the way and make yourself down the water automatically. Upon emerging from the waterfall, head west and then a bit north to the watercrest. You will be surrounded by tentacles from all sides, and Tellah will announce the appearance of the Octomamm, which can only call for two words....BOSS FIGHT!!!

2350 HPOctomamm

Cecil should fight, and not bother with the D.Wave at all. Conserve his energy. Most of them you connect with a good attack, he will lose a tentacle and slow down. Have Rydia call the chocobo constantly. Tellah should heal when necessary and innovate some of that sweet sweet BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with Lit over and over. Continue with this and the octopus will eventually give up the ghost. Go outside, use a tent, and save.

9. Damcyan

Walk to the castle, but HOLY SH*T the place is under siege by the Red Wings, who lay waste to the castle! This can't be good......so when you go in, the place is in ruin and soldiers lay all over, some deceased. Make your way to the top and you will see Anna, Tellah's daughter laying. Walking to her, Tellah is beset by the presence of her suitor Prince Edward of Damcyan, who is promptly attacked by an enraged wizard. A fight ensues, and is only broken by the words of Anna, who tells her father that her and Edward were happy as a couple, but fleed because of Tellah's refusal to consent to their being together. Edward drops a hint of a Golbez, who is behind this sudden show of force by the King of Baron. Tellah, enraged, sets out despite the party's wishes and leaves. Upset, Edward cries, until Rydia talks sense into him and Cecil asks for his help. He then joins, and upon hearing of Rosa's condition, gives the party a hovercraft they can use to get the SandRuby.

10. Antlion's Cave

First, use the hovercraft and head back to Kaipo to stock on potions and tents. Feel free to level up again, I recommend a party level around 15 at this point. Once stocked up, hop on your hovercraft and head to the Antlion's Nest, which is east of Damcyan in a cave (duh!). Enter the cave, collect the chests that you can, and just head south. Through two rooms, collect the chests and items, and don't be afraid to run from some battles if you feel the need to. Along the way, you'll get a new weapon for Edward, give it to him and if his levels are where they should be, he'll inflict some decent damage. Once in the bottom floor, head straight down and Edward will take the SandRuby. Oi, he gets chopped at by claws! Not a good thing, so help him and this is another......BOSS FIGHT!!!


1100 HPAntlion

Alright, you gots no Tellah for this battle, however it's still not difficult. Be wary of the Antlion's Counter which can do a good 35-40 points of damage. Cecil should fight, Rydia call the Chocobo, and Edward fight with his musical weapons. Rydia will also innovate some WHITE MAGE GOODNESS and heal the party whenever need by. Keep this rhythm up and the Antlion will give up the ghost. Afterwards, take the SandRuby, wonder along with the party why the Antlion attacked, and head back out. Use a tent, save, then head back to Kaipo with the SandRuby. Go to the room where Rosa is held, and when you use it, it heals her! Whoo! At first, Cecil is reluctant to allow Rosa to join, but along with Rydia, he is convinced otherwise and now you have a White Mage to help you! You'll learn that the next target of this Golbez is Fabul, which is eastward. While staying there, in the middle of the night, Edward will come out and be upset over the loss of his Anna that he will begin to play music to himself. At this point, he is beset by a WaterHag! This isn't a boss fight, just keep attacking as Anna eggs you on to fight, and the WaterHag will dissipate pretty quickly. Anna will tell you her final goodbyes, and stress to Edward how vital he is to the party. Heal up everyone, get Rosa a bow and some arrows so you can use her Aim command, and head north of Kaipo and eastward over the searocks past the Antlion's nest towards you next destination, Mt. Hobs.

11. Mt Hobbs

Here, the path is blocked by Ice. Rosa expects Rydia to cast Fire. However, given Rydia's past with Fire, she is VERY reluctant to do so, until Rosa convinces her of the greater need ahead. Rydia summons all she can.....and FIRE melts the ice to nothing! Now, she learns Fire, and you're on your way! Head up the mountain through the various stations, collecting what you see, until you reach the Summit. On the Summit, you'll see monsters attacking a series of soldiers, along with their instructor Yang! A battle ensues where Yang takes out the attacking monsters, however the big nasty bomb rolls towards Yang, and this doesn't sit well with the party, so in dramatic flair...BOSS FIGHT!!!

11,000 HPMombomb

Once in battle, Cecil will attack, Yang will fight, Edward will attack, Rydia will call the Chocobo, and Rosa will take Aim and heal whenever need be. After so long, the Mombomb will explode, however she gives plenty of warning, so HEAL as much as you can! When she explodes, it'll inflict a good amount of damage to everyone, so just hurry up and take out the remaining mini-bombs, which shouldn't be a problem. Keep attacking and keep the HP up and this will be over soon. Once this is past, Yang will thank you for helping him, and Cecil will explain Golbez and his plan to get the Crystal from Fabul. Yang shows a bit of hesitation, but is convinced of the danger ahead, and goes with the party to Fabul. Once off the mountain, use a tent and save the game before heading to Fabul.

12. Fabul Castle

From where you left Mt. Hobs head eastward going south and north when necessary, and you'll run into Fabul Castle. Use another tent and save, trust me on this. You're now in Fabul, so head directly to the King's room straight ahead. Yang will speak of how you helped him, and the King, noticing that Cecil is a Dark Knight, will hesitate at first, but understand the Golbez threat, and commission Cecil, Yang, and Edward to protect the Crystal. Rydia and Rosa will take the office of relief, and soon enough, the Crystal War will begin. Here's hoping you saved and used that tent, because here comes a string of continuous fights, between which you'll get NO chance to rest! Fight carefully with Cecil and Yang, and use Edward's Heal ability whenever necessary. No matter how hard you fight, you'll continually be pushed back into the throne room, where more battles will take place, and eventually you will end up in the Crystal Room. And inside, the Crystal will be there, however you'll confront.........Cain?! Cecil will try to reason with Cain, but to no avail, and you'll be drawn into battle with him, that no matter what you do, or how long you last, YOU WILL NOT WIN. After battle, Kain will try to end the life of Cecil, but before that can happen, Rydia and Rosa hop in and survey the damage, but not for long. Golbez makes his appearance here, and summons Kain to take the Crystal. Realizing that Rosa is a vital pawn in this game, she gets kidnapped by Golbez, who tries to stop him, but is futile in his efforts. After the departure of Golbez and Cain, Rydia heals the party and recovers them. After this, head to the Inn and rest for free.

13. The Morning After

When you wake up, head to the King's room, in the right tower outside the main foyer. In his room, he will allow the use of his ship, and give you a sword of Darkness, explaining that this sword is powerful, but will not defeat true evil. After equipping the sword, head outside of the castle and to the east harbor where the ship awaits. Talking with Ms. Yang, she'll wish you all well, and you'll set sail just as fast as you got on. Sailing for a while, you'll head different directions, until suddenly, the waves gather and throw the ship for a loop......and ultimately realizing that this isn't no sea storm, but the Master of The Seas, Leviatan! He makes himself known and hits the ship hard, causing Rydia to go overboard and in pursuit, Yang. The second slam knocks Edward for a loop, and the ship can do no more to avoid, but rather falls into the clutches of the Master of The Seas.

14. Wake up alone

Once you come to, and realize where you are, you'll flip and call out to everyone, but helplessly realizing that you're all alone. At this point, there's nothing you can do but make your way to the town that you made your mark in some time ago.....the magic town of Mysidia. Before going in, take the time to fight around here......it may take a while, but I'd go so far to say that level 25 is appropriate, higher if that's your fance. Since you're on your own, and your sword causes death to most enemies, it shouldn't take long to raise those levels. Or, you can wait until later.

15. Besieged town of Mysidia

This is the town that you laid waste to under orders from the King of Baron, however things are a little different, and now you're the one in dire straits. Go straight into the center of town into the main hall, and you'll come acrossthe Mysidian Elder, who will question your presence. Cecil at this time is a fairly remorseful and broken man, and the Elder will commission Cecil to climb Mt. Ordeals and become the Holy Knight, Paladin. However, many have tried, and none have returned, but Cecil, needing the help, agrees to the trial. This prompts the Elder to assign the Mysidian Twin Mages, Palom and Porom, who will assist Cecil. Don't be fooled by their appearances, because they pack quite the punch. Once they join you, the Elder will send you on your way. There is no need to dilly dally in the shops and whatnot, because none of the armor can be equipped by Dark Knights! Of course, if you've got the money, go ahead and spring for this Paladin armor...better safe than sorry. Of course, it's wise to stock on Soft and Heal potions. Talking with the townsfolk will reveal nothing more than contempt from them, and one of the black mages will show you the meaning of BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE by casting Toad on you. No biggie, just talk to him again to reverse the spell. Once you've looked around here, head out and follow the path towards Mt. Ordeals.

16. Chocobo Forest

On your way here, I advise you level up to 30 with Cecil, and have the twins around 19-20 or so. When you're following the path, and you come across a wide forest, Mt. Ordeals will be to your north, but you'll notice a round forest southward, that would be a Chocobo Forest. Go there, and instead of using a tent, find the white chocobo and have him restore your MP, then use Porom to cure everyone, then talk to the w. chocobo again. Whee, infinite MP and healing! Once you're done here, go out and build more levels or head northward to the mountain.

17. Mt. Ordeals

The mountain is like Mt. Hobs in structure, and just as straightforward. Lots of undead enemies here, so make sure you watch your fire spells here. A body of fire blocks your way, which Palom nixes in no time with an ice spell, and get a bit too boastful for his own good, hehehe. The game will cut to a scene aboard an unknown place where Golbez is lying in wait with Kain and the incarcerated Rosa. Golbez dispatches Milon Z, Fiend of the Earth, to eradicate Cecil. Kain whines about how he should slay Cecil, but Golbez dismisses his concerns and has him watch Rosa, to whom Kain boasts that he's better than Cecil. Now, back to the mountain. As I said, lots of strong undead enemies and villans who can stone your character populate the mountains, so here's hoping you got a good supply of healing and recovery potions. Making your way up the mountain, before clearing the first area, you'll run into Tella, whom the party surprises! He's out for blood, not to mention the legendary apocalyptic spell, Meteo. After conversing with him, he'll join you (PHEW!)a and you'll continue on your way. After 2 or 3 stations you'll come to the summit, where a weird feeling will come over the party, which is blamed on Palom. Moving further, you'll see a save spot, use a tent and save right there. Now, moving forward and before crossing the bridge to the sacred room, you'll be surprised by Milon and his Skullnants, whom plan to feed on you, and it's time for a...BOSS FIGHT!!!

3500 / 200 HPMilon and the Undead

Not too hard, just burn the Skullnants with Fire spells and attacks, and feel free to use Twin to take them out even quicker. Tellah should heal when necessary and pound on Milon with some Fire1 spells. Cecil should just stick to attacking Milon. When the Twin is up, use Porom as a secondary healer, and Palom innovate that oh so wonderful BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with some Fire2 and soon enough Milon will submit. Now, the party is free to proceed, however after that battle, don't you think you're spent? Well then, hurry back to the save point and use another tent and save. Now, this is funny, but reverse the party order so your front people are in the back and the back people are in the front. Why? Well, do this, and then head over the bridge. Walking, you'll be no more than a few steps.....and then Milon will reveal his true form and attack from behind, so yep...once again...BOSS FIGHT!!!

3523 HPMilon Zombie

Alright, cue the music and let's rock! Again, hopefully you switched rows so that way you won't get the brunt of Milon's attacks. Cecil will fight as normal, the twins will use the Twin attack and Palom will utilize that pure and wholesome BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with Fire2 and Porom will heal the party as needed. Tellah should be the party healer, curing poison and restoring life whenver necessary. This battle is a bit harder than the last, because of Milon's increased speed, however after continuous Fire2 spells and attacks, he'll begin his dissipation. Now, with him out the way, proceed to the Holy Room.

18. The Holy Room

Once you enter, a sequence will take place where Cecil will hear a voice call him 'My Son.' This befuddles Cecil, who is then told to accept the light and conquer his past from within. A light of hope will seemingly transform Cecil from the Dark Knight to the Holy Knight, however this change is short lived as the Past Cecil attacks the Paladin Cecil, resulting in an impromptu...BOSS FIGHT!!!

4000 HPDark Knight

You don't even need to fight! No matter what the Dark Knight uses, just defend. The voice of reason will talk about justice, and soon enough, the Dark Knight will cease to exist.

After the encounter has commenced, the light of hope will surround Cecil, and envelop him, thereby making him the Holy Knight, Paladin! Seemingly, the light has not only affected Cecil, and it shows...Tellah has now recovered the meaning of his lost spells....including the spell of destruction, the ultimate in BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE...Meteo! However, before leaving, Cecil will question the light, and its use of 'My Son'...perhaps soon enough, Cecil will find his answer. For now, head out and make it to the save point soon enough. If you bought the Paladin armor from Mysidia before you left, go ahead and equip it, then use a tent and save the game. From there, make your way out and down the mountain. Go ahead and use another tent and save if you'd like. A note about the Paladin: you start out at level 1, and after your first battle, you'll end up at level 6 or so! Of course, this doesn't last, and soon enough you'll be where you're at before. I would level up to about 18-20 before leaving the mountain area entirely. Feel free to spend time leveling Cecil up around the forest area, utilzing the Chocobo Forest as described previously. When you're satisfied, head back to Mysidia.

19. Back in Mysidia

Once back in town, talk to the Elder and all will be spilled as to the Twins' true purpose. Tellah will confront the Elder, who is alarmed that Meteo has been revealed. After this, the Devil's Road will be opened, so stock up on some supplies for Tellah, and with the twins in tow, head out and to the house on the right with the Devil's Road, and back to Baron.

20. Return to Baron

In here, you'll see a locked door that you can't get into on the left side of town. Likewise, the weapon and armor shops are locked as well. Damn. For now, go to the inn and you'll see none other than Yang! He's talking to some guards, and when you try to talk to him, they attack you! Dispense of them quickly and talk to Yang again, who will decide to follow suit, turning this into a...BOSS FIGHT!!!

62,000 HPYang

He's got lots of HP, but he goes down easy. Cecil attacks, Tellah uses his level-3 spells, you can also rely on Twin to inflict some good damage. Keep your HP up and he'll go down soon enough.

After the battle, Yang will give you the Key of Baron!

Now, go to those locked shops and open them up and buy some weapons for Yang. From here, head to that solitary locked door on the left and use the key to enter.

21. Raid on the Castle Baron

Head south, east, and then north, getting the chests along the way. The enemies in here are all susceptible to lightning, so don't be afraid to hold back and not use it. In the second room, there's a secret passage near the entrance, go through it to pick up three chests with an Ether, ZeusRage, and a HiPotion. There's not much in this room, so head out the top entrance, and through the next two straightforward rooms until you come to a door. Enter the door and see the save point. Before saving, head past the save point and through the middle of the right wall to get an Ancient Sword, but don't equip it because it's not as strong as your current sword. Rest and save, then head back out and north towards the exit. You'll end up behind the Castle Baron, now make your way west and then south until you see the entrance into the walls of the Castle.

Once in, I advise you make your way to Cecil's room in the left tower and rest. Once you rest, make your way back down and to the throne room. Before you get there, you'll see...Baigan?! He's glad to see you and you're glad to see him....weird, no? Well, he'll join your party (WHOO!) and accompany you to the throne room...but something's not right. The twins point out a bad acting job by Baigan, who has a present for Cecil from Golbez. Yay. Guess you'll see this present in a familiar fashion...BOSS FIGHT!!

4500 / 460 (left) / 460 HP (right)Baigan

Alright, we got a live one here! Whoo! Start off by attacking the body of Baigan. Spells are NOT advised as he will use the Wall to reflect them back at you, so stick to attacking the body with Cecil and Yang. Tellah should use Haste on Cecil and Yang to boost their attacks. Palom and Porom can use Twin to get through the Wall and damage Baigan, however you may kill off the arms, which will be regenerated. Just keep the attacks up and once his body goes down, the arms are a snap. Any level 2 or level 3 spell will do the trick for them.

Now, head back to Cecil's room and rest up again, then head to the King's Room. The King is there....but upset that you've become Paladin. Cecil wonders....but wait, King Baron throws his costume off, to reveal Cagnazzo, The Fiend of Water! He tells the party that Milon was no good for them, and decides to drown the party, and yep...you guessed it...BOSS FIGHT!!!

5400 HPCagnazzo

Surprisingly, this is one of the EASIEST fights in the game. Cecil will attack, as will Yang. Have Tellah and Palom innovate some dual BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE by using Ice3 and Lit2, respectively. When he gathers the water around himself, use Ice3 to penetrate it. Use Porom to keep the HP's up and soon enough, he'll fade into nothingness. After this battle, Cid comes in wondering who locked him up, and asks about the welfare of Rosa, not to mention exchange some fun dialogue with Tellah. After this, proceed out and prepare for one of the sadder moments in this game. Once this has passed, follow Cid and he'll show you a new Airship for everyone to use! Once the Airship leaves Baron, you'll see an incoming ship....and who's flying it, none other than the turncoat Kain! He tells you to retrieve the Earth Crystal in exchange for Rosa, and the party can do nothing but to oblige. Guess your next destination is Toroia, directly northwest of Baron over the mountain range.

22. Troian Beauty

There is a very small patch of land near the Town and Castle of Toroia. Land here and go into the castle. Head directly up into the castle and into the room of the eight Clerics. Talking to all of them will reveal that the Dark Elf took the Crystal and is holed up in a cave northeast of here, and that his cave has a metallic field, meaning that no metallic weapons can be used in there. Whoopee. For now, head out the left door, and to the bottom door. It's Edward! He wants to help, but can't. He's too ill to even try and move, but Tellah reassures him that they'll carry his load for him, and Edward gives them the TwinHarp as a substitute. Right now, let's get some supplies. Head back into the main chamber and out the right door, and head to the bottom door on the right. Go down the staircase to the right and you'll be in a room with 3 doors, open them all to get access to all the chests. Once you've pillaged these, head out the Castle but don't board your ship. You need something to land on forests....so walk directly north and head to the weird shaped patch of forest....it's a Chocobo Forest! Now, before going in, you may want to level up a bit...personally, I'd recommend your part be around level 35-37. Talk to a white chocobo to restore your MP, then use Cecil and Tellah to cure your HP, then talk to him again. Now, find one of those pesky black chocobos and talk to him, and you'll hear this VERY catchy theme as your chocobo takes off! Now, head east and over the river until you see the Cave Magnes. Land in the forest directly outside, and if you wish to use a tent or cabin, and save, and then level up out here, that's great. Once you're ready, head in.

23. Magnetic Cavern

Once you get in here, the magnetic field will take shape, and anyone with metallic weapons will be paralyzed. Well, here's why I wanted you at level 35. Every fight in here, RUN! The cave itself is straighforward, and there aren't any dead ends of note. Head over the bridge and to the ladder, and head up. In this room, take the right room to grab an Ether and 2000 gil. Out this room, head left and out this room. You'll see two doors, one of them has a save point, rest and save, it's highly recommended. Go out and to the left, over another bridge. Take the middle path and enter the door, and you'll come across a Fairy Claw for Yang - equip it. Head left and into the next room, which is full of candles. Take the right path across another bridge and you'll reach another save point, and I suggest you do so. Head out the save area and straight up, and you'll run into the Crystal Room, where the Dark Elf lies in wait. He threatens you, and that's never kosher, and despite the metal handicap the party faces, they get into it with the Dark Elf anyhow, who cripples the party with a series of spells into submission. He laughs and laughs about it....but wait, back in Toroia, Edward can't take this, and reaches for his harp! He begins to play a soothing melody...but it's not so soothing to the Dark Elf, who can't stand it....and mysteriously, it releases the metallic field over the party! Now, heal yourself and make sure all of your metallic weapons and armor are equipped, then go talk to Dark Elf again, who is enraged over this series of events...and draws you into a BOSS FIGHT!!!

23,900 / 3930 HPDark Elf / Dragon

You know the drill, have Cecil, Yang, and Cid attack. Tellah should keep the HP's up and use Bio whenever possible. The Dark Elf will use Whisper and Wind to try and confuse and drain the party, so watch out for that. After so long, he'll reveal his true form as the Dark Dragon! He's nothing, but uses his DragonBreath that shouldn't be a problem as long as your HP is above 500. Keep the HP's up, the attacks coming, and soon enough he'll give up the ghost. After this, take the Crystal from the altar, and once back in the cave, use Exit to warp outside to the mainland. Head for your black chocobo, and ride it back to the forest, in here use the white chocobo to restore your MP and HP, then head back out and south toward Toroia, but save the game before going in.

24. Back to Troia

Now, head into the Hall of Clerics and they will be happy to see the Crystal, but are stunned when the voice of Kain calles Cecil to the outside with the crystal. This throws the Clerics into a tizzy, but as promised, they lend you the Crystal, and one of them will tell you to take their treasure. Head out and to the room with the three staircases, and go down to where the lady was guarding the door, and talk to her, and follow the open path to the Toroian Treasure. There are 20 (!!!) chests with various goodies, hope you got room for them all! Head back to the Nurse's Room where Edward is lying in bed, and the party will thank him for his help. Now, head back outside to the mainland, but don't board your ship yet. Go into the town and buy potions and supplies, then head out and save your game. Now, board your airship.

25. Tower of Zot

Once on the airship, Kain will ask for the Crystal, then take you to the Tower. Make sure to grab everything you see, as you'll never see this tower again. Now, head to the top left, and grab the Flame Armor, and head to the next floor. You'll come across the Flame Sword, then make your way to the third floor. Just head to the door next to you and you'll be on the fourth floor. You'll see 4 rooms, so head to the top right to find a Priest Robe for Tellah. Head out and in the middle is an Earth Hammer, give that to Cid. Enter the next room to the left and you'll see a chest on the right with a HellClaw for Yang. Equip it and head left. At the bottom there's a chest with a Flame Shield, don't equip it yet. Head back to the room with the 4 rooms and go to the right. Enter through this door and you'll be on the 5th floor. The room before the middle room is a save room, so rest and save your game. Now, head into the middle and you'll run into the Magus Sisters - Sandy, Cindy, and Mindy. They'll tell you about a nifty little thing called the Delta Attack, and you can't let THAT get in the way, now can you? Yep, they're talking shit, and it's time to give them some toilet paper...BOSS FIGHT!!!

2600 / 4600 / 3000 HPMagus Sisters

Ready for the Delta Attack?! Sandy uses Wall on Cindy, Mindy attacks, and then Sandy bounces either Fire2, Bolt2, or Ice2 off Cindy and to one of your members. Yes, it's that lame. This is so easy. Just have Yang, Cid, and Cecil attack Cindy until she's toast, then attack Sandy, then Mindy. There's no need for BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE...unless after Cindy's gone, you want to be sadistic and use it to speed up the demise of the other two sisters. Keep attacking and have Tellah keep the HP's up. Now, heal yourself fully and continue into the next room.

In here, you'll see Golbez, but Tellah will snap and begin attacking him with various spells relentlessly, until he begins to chant the ultimate in BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE, Meteo. Cecil will try to calm him down, but Tellah is hellbent on giving his life to avenge his daughter and Edward, and downs Golbez with Meteo. It's only a temporary victory, but it costs Tellah his life. After this, the party will come across Rosa, and luckily rescue her as a blade comes scraping down! Whew!

Now, Rosa is back with Cecil, and Kain has come to his senses....but Golbez is gone, and Tellah slain by his own will. Kain explains how he wanted to keep Rosa close, but Rosa wants to be fighting partners with Kain. This is well, and the party of Cid, Cecil, Rosa, Yang, and Kain heads out.....but oi, they are stopped by an unseen force, who reveals itself to be Valvalis, the Fiend of Wind! She gets boastful about being the king of air fighting, which sets off a nerve in Kain, and thus ensues a BOSS FIGHT!!!

8700 HPValvalis

She's a wind fiend, and a tornado...well, what did you expect? She's quite the formidable opponent, but the key here is to KEEP KAIN IN THE AIR! Cecil and Cid should just attack, and when she's in her tornado phase, Kain with the Jump attack will stop her spin. Rosa should be in the back row and keeping the HP's up. Valvalis likes to use Petrify and Wind which will take a member's HP down to a few, so keep an eye out for that and heal accordingly. Eventually, the battle will be over and you'll emerge victorious.

26. Escape and Return to Baron

Now, head out, but Valvalis will talk about the mightiest of the four fiends still remaining, and self-detonate the tower! Yikes! Rosa will use Exit, and spring the party back to Cecil's room in Baron Castle. Kain will reveal some more info on Golbez, and hand over the Magma Key. Hmm, guess this could come in handy. For now, rest, and then head out to the outside, and the Airship will be back outside because of Cid's remote control (wish my car was like that!). Now, here's the deal...if you have other business, wish to level up, buy supplies, etc....DO IT NOW! Once you're ready, head south of Baron to an island with a small town and a mountain.

27. Way to the Dark World

This small town is Agart. The people here mention a lot about dwarves and a hidden world. Go into the center of town, and to the Well. Drop the Magma Key in the Well, and after a while, an explosion will take place....and go outside to see a GIANT HOLE in the mountains.

28. A Whole New World

When you get underground, immediately you'll be chased down by the Red Wings, who apparently are looking for a fight, or another Crystal, take your pick. Whee. After a while, the ship will land and you'll be outside a Castle. Wow, down here, eh? Go on in. When you enter, you'll see that the place is run by Dwarves. All of them telling you Rally Ho! and it makes them happy. Yay. Just walk on in and straight to the King, Jiott. Here, the party will explain to Jiott the scenario, Cid will leave the party and head to Baron for Airship repairs, and after a while, something will stir behind the walls of the throne, which will prompt Jiott to open the way to the Crystal Room. Walking into the room, the dolls will stir...and talk about how Golbez brought them to life to claim the crystal. Yay. And yes, you know what evil attacking dolls call for....BOSS FIGHT!!!

Okay, if you just attack the dolls, randomly, after a while, they will form the Calcobrena, which needless to say, can be repeated and make life miserable. So what to do? Attack the blue dolls solely. If you take them out, and then take the pink dolls out, they won't even form the big doll! So do that and just keep the HP's up.

Afterwards, Golbez will make himself known again, and the party will engage him in battle. Before long, Golbez will overcome the party and summon the Shadow Dragon, who will hold them in paralysis, leaving Cecil as the only living member...until the MistBreath comes and clears out the ShadowDragon! Golbez is shocked, as I'm sure you are...then Rydia appears! And it looks like she was responsible for the ShadowDragon's demise! Whoo! Oh yea. This skirmish has become a...BOSS FIGHT!!!

After the ShadowDragon has been dispensed of, Rydia and Cecil remain alive. Feel free to revive the other members as necessary, then go after Golbez and keep up with the attacks. Soon enough, he'll fade into nothing. Good job!

Afterwards, Golbez will revive himself briefly and make away with the Dark Crystal. Damn. Back out to the throne and to King Jiott. He'll tell you to make way to the Tower of Bab-il and that the Dwarf Tanks will hold off the Red Wings so that you can get in. So, make you way to the lobby and head left and go into the shops. Buy a few Rune Rings and a Priest Hat or two. Make your way to the downstairs exit into another room with a few drunk dwarves and a lone dwarf in front of a door. Talk to him to go down into the basement where from here, you'll make your way out. Be sure to sip the healing pot before making your way out, and go ahead and leave the castle. You'll see yourself on the other side of the castle, so make your way west and then north until you come across the Tower of Bab-il. You'll be stopped at various points by the force of the tanks exchanging fire, so don't be daunted...just make sure to heal and save outside before going in.

29. The Tower of Bab-il

Now is a good time to equip those Flame weapons you got from the Tower of Zot, as most of the enemies in here are ice enemies. Make your way up and to the right to grab an Ether and a Green Beret. Head down, and go into the door. You'll see a chest, open it to force a battle with an Eye, who will call an enemy if you attack it. Take the eye out, then take out whatever enemy it calls. For winning, you'll receive the Blizzard Spear. Equip this and move on. Head right to the door and go in, where another chest with an Eye lies. Kill him and take the IceBrand, but don't use it. Move onto the next room. Take the left chest to receive a CatClaw for Yang. Head around and to the left door to the next floor. In this room go to the left to find a save point, and rest and save. Now, head back out and to the right. Enter the room to the bottom and fight another Eye to receive an Ice Shield. Head out and towards the top to another room, to fight yet another Eye and win the Ice Armor. Now, head to the top left and onto the next floor. In here, ignore the room in the middle and continue towards the top, picking up a Hi-Potion along the way. Here just go to the door on the left. In this next room take the right side and into a door to find a save point, save your game and continue on. Make sure to grab the Ether2 and head over to the left, where you will come across a mad scientist up to no good. Talking to him you will see that he's responsible for controlling the Tower, and will confront the party, resulting in a...BOSS FIGHT!!

The first hit Balnab will inflict is on Lugae, so consider that a freebie. Now, if you get rid of Balnab, Lugae will take control and form the FusedMecha, so just concentrate all your attacks on Lugae. Kain should Jump, Yang and Cecil will fight, Rosa will Aim and heal when necessary, and Rydia should inflict some SUMMONING MAYHEM by calling Ramuh. Just keep Lugae as your main focus and after a while, you'll topple him and Balnab! Of course, this doesn't sit too well with Lugae, and therefore transforms himself into something more vile, his true form! Now, watch for his PoisonGas and SleepGas which will stun your party, and he'll also respond with a Laser that could possibly kill one of your members. Just keep the HP's up with Rosa's WHITE MAGE GOODNESS and the same attacks and he'll give up the ghost. Now, with the Lugae Key, make your way back down to that locked door. Make sure to rest and save in that room along the way. Now, when you go in, three demons will set the SuperCannon to take out the dwarves, but the party intervenes! These are 3 Dark Imps, so just dispose of them. The Imps will then set off the Cannon for good, and Yang will throw the party out of the room and lock the door and sadly sacrifice himself to stop the cannon. Sadly, there is nothing you can do, so make your way out of the tower. Golbez will make his presence known, and start the collapse of the bridge, knocking the party out and falling and falling.....until Cid saves the day with his reformed Enterprise!

30. Return to Baron and the Hovercraft

Well, Cid rescued you, and now you learn that you need to infiltrate the Tower of Bab-il yet again, but you can't go from where you came, and now you need to get back to the outside world to try again. Cid tells you to head to Baron and get his men to help you, and he'll seal the hole with his bomb. So, head back to the crater in the northeast from whence you came, and head back out. Cid will jump off the ship, tell Golbez that he'll give his life to see the end, the mountain will erupt, and out you come shooting out and you're back in the mainland! Now, head to Baron. When you go in, you'll see two of Cid's assistants on the right. Head in, to the right, and out the door and you'll be in their area. Talk to them and they will attach a hook to the Enterprise. Once they're done, head out from Baron, and find your hovercraft. Remember? Yep, still outside of Mt. Hobs where you left it. Head there, and press your cancel button to pick it up. Now, take it to Baron...from Baron, head southwest until you see the Tower of Bab-il and the ruins of Castle Eblana. Yep, this is where you need to land, so release the hovercraft and then land. Ride the hovercraft to outside the cave, and rest and save. Go in.

31. Eblan Cave

These are one sided caves, so just make your way through the first section and head towards the bottom, grabbing the two chests. The next room houses no monsters, but the survivors of the attack on Eblan's Castle. Nothing here is worth buying, so just rest if you'd like, then head out south. Now you're in the Pass to Bab-il. Head to the north part, you'll see a wounded guard and he'll tell you that the Prince has went to the Tower alone. Go into the next room, and another wounded guard is there, along with a Shuriken in the chest. Grab it and head down into the next room. In here, go right to a hidden pass with two Elixirs. Come back and grab the three chests below the hidden passage. Now, head north and to the next room. You'll find a save point along with a BloodSword hidden in the secret passage between the two rocks on the wall, but you'll have to defeat the SteelGolems to get it, not a difficult task. Note to self - don't use the BloodSword on undead enemies, as you'll give them HP and lose your own! So, rest and save your game, then exit out and head up to where the Prince of Eblana, Edge, is attacking someone called Rubicant. It's all for nothing, as Rubicant makes short work of Edge and tells him to try again later. The party goes to Edge, of course to find out he's a silver spooned brat, but could be useful as his Ninja skills are above par. He'll join you and you will all go through the opening to wind up in...yep, back in the Tower of Bab-il!

32. The Tower of Bab-il revisited

Check some things here. Party should hopefully be in the high 40's for levels, and have Rydia and Rosa in the 2nd and 4th slots, with Cecil, Kain, and Edge in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th slots, with Rydia and Rosa in the back rows. Now, let's continue. Go near the wall and press Cancel. Edge will sneak the party in and BOOM you're in! Head over and around to reach a door. Follow the path south and go across the bridge to get an OgreAxe, but you gotta kill a few Ogres to get it, not a difficult task. Grab the Axe and head left to the door and go in. Head into the next door you see in this room. Now, go right and enter the door at the end of this path. In this room, the first door you see holds a save point, I recommend you use it. Now, go out and enter the next door to continue. In here, just head to the only door you see. Now head south and you'll see a few bridges. Ignore the longest bridge, and head to the three short bridges. The middle bridge here will give you 82000 gil. Head to the longest bridge, and now you'll see the King and Queen of Eblana...but they're not themselves...and attack! BOSS FIGHT!!!

60000 HP King Eblan, Queen Eblan

Well, Well, guess what? Just attack and keep the HP's up. After so much damage, they'll come to their senses, but sadly won't last long before expiring. They'll say their goodbyes to Edge, who will become enraged. Now, Rubicant, the Fiend of Fire and the last remaining Fiend, will appear and try to console Edge, blaming his parents' fate on Dr. Lugae. Edge isn't buying it, and with his enraged state, draws out the hidden power of Flood and Blitz. Now, make sure that Cecil has his Ice equipment on, and go talk to Rubicant and he'll heal the party automatically, then start yet another...BOSS FIGHT!!!

34000 HP Rubicant

This is actually an easy fight. Just attack with Cecil, Edge, and have Kain jump, with Rydia calling Shiva...but only when he's not hidden in his cape! When he's concealed, any damage that Shivan or any Ice element inflicts will heal him, so when his left leg is sticking out, he's vulnerable! When he's open, innovate that BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with Ice2 or Ice3 or have Shiva come out for some SUMMONER MAYHEM. Rosa should Aim with the Ice Arrows or show off the WHITE MAGE GOODNESS with Cure spells to keep the HP up and soon enough Rubicant will be gone.

When you enter the room above, you will fall into a pitfall dropping you to the floor below. In this next area, pick up a HIPOTION at the top and move on. In this next room just proceed to the top. Here you will be on the 6th floor. Continue down and to the right to the next room. In this next room at the end of a long bridge, Edge will come across...an airship?! Edge will take the controls and lovingly call it Falcon. When you gain control of the Falcon, head back to the Castle of Dwarves.

33. Jiott's Castle revisited

Now, talking to Jiott, he'll ask you to retrieve the last of the crystals, in the Sealed Cave to the Northwest. He'll ask Luca to hand over her necklace, which is also the key to the sealed cave. With this, you can go in and retrieve the last Crystal before Golbez does! Now, head to the center room and to the left to where the resting room is, to find Cid. He'll furnish the Falcon with heat-resistant siding for the lava. After talking to him, head out and to your Falcon, then head northwest of the Castle to the cave that is sealed off with a small patch of land in front of it, this is the Sealed Cave. I suggest you be around 50 if you are not there yet. Use a tent, save the game, and go in and use the Luca Key to open the way.

34. Sealed Cave

Every door in this cave is a TrapDoor - they will attack you and almost always kill off one of your members. Just keep attacking them and they'll die quickly. It's wise to keep a load of Life and HiPotions for this particular cave. Now, I'll ignore every battle with the TrapDoors, and hopefully you're at level 50. Now, head in and go south and then west and then north to the lone door. Defeat the TrapDoor and go into the new room. In here, go left and cross the rope to see another TrapDoor. Yea, you'll get annoyed of these things real quick, trust me. Kill him and in the next room, head south to the ladder, and go down. Now, go down through the rope walkway, and go up to the 2nd door from the right. Kill this TrapDoor and go in and grab the LightSword for Cecil. Now, go back out and to the fourth door, where after killing it, is a save point. And lord knows you need this, so rest and save. Now back out into the main room, head left and down to another TrapDoor, kill it and go in. Once in this new room, head to the left stairs and go into the middle of the room and ride the rope ladder down. Head right, kill the TrapDoor, and go into this room to grab an Ether2 and an X-Potion. Now, go back out and head towards the left and into the next room. Now, in here is a save point, so rest and save again. Keep heading down and ignore the rope ladders. Head around and over to the middle, and go into the center room. By now, you should be on the 5th floor. Go into the center room, defeat the last TrapDoor, and enter the crystal room and grab it. Voila, the Crystal is yours! Right at this point, it's my advice that you go to your menu screen, go to Config, and set the ATB mode to Wait, and your battle speed to 3 or 4. Now, head back out...but before you get too far, the ground will shake and you'll notice the walls closing in...yep, BOSS FIGHT!!!

28000 HP DemonWall

This is your hardest fight yet. The DemonWall will attack hard as he closes in, and when he's about mid-to-near-right on the screen, he'll use CrashDown to wipe out your characters one by one. Of course, you have to take him out before he gets close enough. Rydia should call Titan or utilize that BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with Bio. Rosa should cast Haste on Cecil and Edge and Kain and Rydia. Edge will throw all he can, and attack afterwards. Kain will Jump and Cecil will straight out attack. Have Rosa show that WHITE MAGE GOODNESS and keep the HP's up and hopefully, the Wall will go down before too long. Now, heal up and when you get back to the next room after exiting the Crystal Room, have Rydia cast Warp over and over until you're at the entrance. Now, make your way out....and that wretch Golbez will call out to Kain to return the crystal to him, but Kain won't listen to it.....yet attacks Cecil and talks about how with all the Crystals in hand, the path to the moon will now open. Kain turns on the party again and leaves with the Crystals. Nothing else you can do but to head back to the Castle. At this point, before heading back, you can get some help for Rydia. Save outside the sealed cave, and head a bit northwest to a small cave on an island. This is the Land of Summoned Monsters.

35. Land of Summoned Monsters

Immediately upon entering, use Float on the entire party. Now, head a bit south, then left, and up, then left again to the next room. In here, use Float on everyone again, then go right, and go up to the next floor. In this room, use Float on everyone yet again, and proceed to the grey portal. You will now be in the Town of Summoners.

36. Town of Summoners

Head south to pick up 6000 gil from a chest, and another 5000 gil. In the bottom section, there is a small bit of floor that is different from the rest, step on it to be warped to a single room with 4 chests. Loot them and go back to where you came from. Now, head back right and all the way up and left to another teleporter with a chest on the other side. Step on the teleporter and go the next floor, then step back and you'll see you're on the teleporter itself. Go down and grab the Rat's Tail from the chest, now step on the teleporter to the next floor. Head to the house in the upper left, where a save point is. Rest and use it. Now, head out, and south to the center of town, where a Chocobo is standing outside a building. This is the Library. Go in, and head up the staircase and through another portal. You'll be in the King and Queen's room. Talking to the man in the room will result in blind ignorance, so talk to the woman, who is Queen Asura. She'll agree to help Rydia...but first, they must test her will and strength, so say Yes when she asks, and this means...BOSS FIGHT!!!

32000 HP Asura

If you don't have the Wall spell, you're screwed. If you've been leveling up like I've suggested, then you're good to go. Cast Wall on Asura...and just attack. Everyone attack. Even Rosa. Straight out attacks. That's all. With Wall in place, Asura will resurrect, cure, protect your party, and all you have to do...is attack. Soon enough, you'll win...and receive the Asura call spell.

Now, head back to that save room in the upper left part of the floor, rest and save, and go talk to the ignorant old man, who will reveal himself as the Master of the Seas....Leviathan! Agree to be tested, and the waves will gather...yep...BOSS FIGHT!!!

51000 HP Leviathan

This one's gonna be tough. When Leviathan is stretched out, he'll use the Big Wave attack, resulting in anywhere from 600 to 1300 HP of damage. Cecil should fight, Edge should throw and fight, Rydia should call Titan and use Lit3, and Rosa should show the WHITE MAGE GOODNESS and heal/revive when necessary. This guy will take a while, but soon enough, he'll cough up the goods and once you win, you'll earn the Levia call spell. Now, head back out and have Cecil or Rosa cast Exit, to warp back outside. Now, head to the Dwarf Castle and go see Jiott. The party will be saddened at the loss of the Crystals...but Jiott will explain about the legend of the Big Whale, which sounds like...Mysidian Legend! Now, with this knowledge, and the fact that the upper and lower worlds are linked, head out, but Cid will appear again, and furnish a drill for the party to head outside to the Upper World. Now, head to the crater and head back up.

37. Odds and Ends 1 - Getting Excalibur

Now once outside, there are a couple of things we can do before heading to Mysidia. Let's go to where the Enterprise is, near the ruins of Eblana, and land the Falcon, and board the Enterprise. Use the hook to grab the hovercraft, and head to the town of Mithril, south of Fabul. Land the hovercraft and Enterprise, and take the hovercraft to the small cave nearby. In here, the man will not talk to you unless you have a Rat Tail. Give him the one you have and in exchange, he'll give you the Adamant Ore. Now, head back to Enterprise, and fly back to wher you left the Falcon, by Eblana. Board the Falcon and head to the hole by Agart, and head down to the Dark World. Once back in here, go immediately south and you'll come across a little place. This is the home of Kokkol, the legendary blacksmith, who when you enter, seems to have lost his touch. Talk to him, and give him the Adamant ore. This will revitalize him, and he'll take the Legend Sword from you and now, you'll just have to leave while he goes to work. Leave, and head back out to the Upper World.

38. Odds and Ends 2 - Getting Odin

There is one more summon spell Rydia can acquire before heading to Mysidia, but it's a doozy. Head to Baron and land, and go into the castle, and make your way to the Right Tower. In here, keep heading downstairs and you'll see a long path, go right and head down the stairs at the end. In this room, you'll see a vacant throne...and who should appear but King Baron! He tells you that he can help you, but he'll need to test you first, and he'll attack as the legendary Odin! BOSS FIGHT!!

21000 HP Odin

You have 60 seconds to defeat him. Yep. 1 minute. If you do not defeat him in one minute, he'll use the Z-sword attack to inflict around 6000 HP, killing your entire party. He's got one weakness...lightning. So have Rydia use Lit3, Cecil attack, Edge throw what he can, and Rosa Aim. By this point, you should be at 50 or above, so he may not even be much of a problem. Once you've won, King Baron will give Rydia the Odin call spell. Now, go back out, rest and save if you'd like, then head back into the Falcon and go back to the Dark World. Head south to Kokkol's Smith Shop and go see him, and he'll reward you with the Excalibur sword, which is way stronger than your current sword! Equip this, and head back outside, and to the Upper World to Mysidia.

39. Securing the Legend

In Mysidia, the Elder will greet you at the gate upon walking in, and take you to the Praying Tower. With the wishes of the Mysidians, they resurrect the chosen ride to the Moon....the Big Whale! After the Whale reveals itself, the Elder will tell you of a voice he heard...so hop in the Big Whale, and look around a bit! Going to the center panel at the very top and pressing your confirm key will enable you to pilot the Big Whale like a regular ship! At the very bottom is a Fat Chocobo who will store your goods, and in the middle are sleep compartments for a quick rest whenever you need it! Now, let's talk to the Crystal of Flight in the middle...and head for the Moon!

40. The Lunar World, a.k.a. Moon

Interesting, um....digs here on the moon. Flying over for a bit, you'll notice several caves, a cave surrounded by a huge circle of rock, and a giant Crystal Palace. Well, first things first, let's see what that voice calling you from the moon was. Land a bit east of the Crystal Palace, near a cave. Now, rest if you need, save if you'd like, and head into the cave. This cave doesn't have much in here, except for a couple of chests, one of them to the right of the entrance giving you a Golden Apple after a battle with Procyotes and Juclyotes, whom given your current levels, shouldn't be a problem. Head north and to the exit. Now, you're back on the mainland. Head a bit southeast to the next cave, and just head south to the exit. Now, you're in view of the Crystal Palace. Head west to the Palace and enter.

41. Mysteries revealed

Here, to the left and up, is a spot that will recover your status and HP. To the right and up is an MP recovery spot. Use these if you'd like, and head into the center of the building. A light will flash, a voice will welcome you, and before you is the Lunarian Sage, FuSoYa. He will explain how Zemus came to be, and how him and his brother KluYa went to the earth, but the people were still evolving, so they created another Moon and kept sleeping. KluYa gave the people of the earth the idea of airships, and fell in love with an earth woman, giving birth to two kids, one of them being...Cecil. So that's who the voice on Mt. Ordeals was. Wow. Now, the old sage explains about the Giant of Bab-il, and how he can seal the Giant before it's too late, and he joins you as a 5th member! Now that he's joined, step on the recovery spots if you haven't done so, and save the game outside. Now, make your way back through the Lunar Passages to the Big Whale...but don't head back to the earth just yet.

42. The King of Summons

Take flight of the Big Whale (center switch on top) and head to the cave that is surrounded by a circle of rock, and land on the circle of rock above the cave entrance. You'll see that you can walk down and to the cave entrance. This is the Cave of Bahamut. Once inside, head down and to the right to snag a Genji glove for Cecil, and head back up to the little blurry passage in the upper right, go here to find a Genji Shield for Cecil as well. Now, enter the opening to the next room. In here, head up and to the left to grab a Genji Helmet and Genji Armor. At this point, make sure everyone is healed up, because when you walk in the middle path, you'll think it's a random battle, but it's got different music and it's a big nasty Behemoth, so put 2 and 2 together...BOSS FIGHT!

23000 HP Behemoth

Now, this is so easy. This boss never attacks on his own...he just counterattacks. One thing - don't use magic. If you use Magic on the Behemoth, he'll put the party under a Wind spell and cripple everyone to low HP. So, just attack with Cecil, Edge will throw and fight, Rydia attacks, Rosa Aims, and FuSoYa keeps the HP up. After long, he'll go down.

Now, heal up and proceed north to the next floor. In here, head down into the long winding path, and you'll end up fighting a total of two more Behemoths, just use the same strategy, healing up after each Behemoth battle, and you'll reach the throne of the King of Summons, Bahamut. He'll talk about how you must be strong to face him, and that he'll put you to the test. Gee. BOSS FIGHT!!!

46000 HP Bahamut

Well, here's what happens. Bahamut never attacks you on his own. Yay! He counts down to 5 and uses the MegaFlare that will scorch you for over 6400 HP. Yay. So how to avoid this? With FuSoYa and Rosa in your party, spread that WHITE MAGE GOODNESS by casting Wall on as many members as you can before he finishes his countdown, with Rosa and FuSoYa taking priority. Whomever has Wall up, will reflect the MegaFlare back on him. Whomever is uncovered, will most likely be toast. Just keep Wall up on your living characters, attack when feasible, and let him burn himself into limbo. Once you've won, you'll gain the Baham call spell, which is the most devastating call spell in the game, inflicting a good 7000-8000 HP of non-elemental damage.

Whoo! Use Exit and head out of the cave and back to the Big Whale. Go inside to the resting compartments, take a nap to restore your health, MP, and status, then go back outside and save your game. Here's hoping you're ready, because once you get back, you're on an automated road through hell! Talk to the Crystal of Flight to begin your descent back to the earth.

43. The Giant of Bab-il is alive!

Once you've gotten back to earth, you'll appear outside the now defunct Tower of Bab-il, which is beginning to generate public enemy no. 1, the Giant of Bab-il, who begins by letting out circles of flame all over the mountains...or around him, take your pick. Anyhow, this goes on about another minute, and the party wonders what they can do....when the Dwarves interfere on the party's behalf...along with Yang, Palom, Edward, Porom, Cid, and the Mysidian Elder! They're all using warships and tanks to stun the Giant, whom is reeling and shocked. Cid lands his ship by the Big Whale, and takes the party into the mouth of the Giant!

44. Inside the Giant

From where you start, head up to reach the Neck. Now, go through this path to the Chest area. To the left, you'll find a Shuriken. Take it and head down and grab the Ether and proceed to the top exit. Now ou're in the Stomach. Head up for a Silver Apple, then down and to he right, and back up for a Soma Drop. Head left to the Passage and up to the save points, but don't use a Tent, just use Magic to heal your characters and then save. Proceed upward to the Lung area. Now, head up the long pass...but in the middle, you'll be stopped by none other than the Four Fiends! They will all taunt you, tell you how Zemus gave them life, and how you're gonna die.

Phun.

Before engaging them in battle, Rubicant being the gentleman, will heal your party beforehand, and encourage you to fight with all your might. I like him. Shame that you gotta kill him. BOSS FIGHT!!!

110000 HP The Four Fiends

Well, they're all stronger, but hell...so are you! Key thing is to keep Rosa using Cure3 nearly EVERY ROUND. FuSoYa should alternate between Flare and Cure3. With Milon: Watch out for his Fire spells that can wreak havoc and Poison attacks. Have Rydia and FuSoYa innovate that pure and wholesome BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE with Fire3 and Flare. Edge should use his Flame magic, while Cecil attacks and Rosa keeps the HP up with her LEET WHITE MAGE SKILLZ. With Rubicant: He likes Fire more than Milon. Remember, open cape good, closed cape bad. Edge now should use Flood, Cecil keeps attacking, and use Haste on him as well. Rydia should switch gears to Ice3 and summoning Shiva, and FuSoYa alternates his Cure3 with Ice3. With Cagnazzo: Rydia uses Lit3 and Ramuh, even Bahamut. FuSoYa changes to Cure3 and Lit3. Watch for the Big Wave, he'll use two of them in succession and cause you big headaches. Edge goes Blitz on him, and Cecil fights, while Rosa heals. With Valvalis: Cecil fights with Haste, as does Edge. FuSoYa uses Flare and Holy, along with Cure3. Rosa should use Cure3 and Holy if she has it, and Rydia calls Bahamut. Beware of Maelstrom, which is a wide Wind attack that will bring everyone's HP down to 1. Use Cure4 IMMEDIATELY. Eventually, she'll finally submit and the Fiends will dissipate.

Phew!

Now, head back to the save point, and now you can use a Cabin to restore your health and magic, then save your game again. Now, head up again to the Lung area and into the Core. In here, the alarm goes off, and FuSoYa tells you to take out the Defense System first. Go to it then, grasshopper! BOSS FIGHT!!!

Okay, first of all, magic isn't necessary at all. Yup. Now, secondly...do not kill off the Attacker or Defender first. If the CPU is left alone, it will use Globe199 to resurrect the Attacker and Defender...at two of your allies' expense. Therefore, focus your personal attacks on the Defender first. After a short bit of attacking from EVERYONE (yes, everyone), it will die. Now, focus your attacks on the CPU only. This will take a bit longer, so use Haste on as many people as you'd like, then proceed with the attacks. Once he's done for, focus on the lone Attacker, and soon enough this battle will be over.

Whee!

After the CPU has imploded itself, Golbez will make himself known....but what in the....FuSoYa recognizes him, and brings Golbez to his senses....and asks him what his father's name is, to which Golbez replies...KluYa.

Ouch.

Crap.

Damn.

So all along, Cecil has been fighting his brother...not knowing whom was truly stained with evil blood for Zemus to use...and now, FuSoYa leaves the party, to head back to the moon. Golbez follows suit, to repay his debt to Zemus...but Cecil is stunned, too stunned to even talk...but now the Giant is collapsing! No way out, it seems...until Kain appears again and shows everyone the way! Edge is hesistant to follow, given Kain's knack for falling under control...but he tells everyone to yell at him later...and leads the party out of the collapsing Giant.

45. Back inside the Whale

Now, you'll appear back inside of the Big Whale. Kain will appear ready to accept the consequences for his transgressions...but they explain to Kain that it was not his fault, since Golbez was stained and being used as well, not to mention Cecil's brother all along. Kain joins you at this point, and Edge isn't too willing to trust Kain...but Kain tells him that if Kain slips, to take him out. Now, at this point, Cecil relieves Rosa and Rydia of their duties, and sends them off the Big Whale because of no guarantee of safe return. They reluctantly leave, and all that's left is Cecil, Kain, Edge...who take their places around the Crystal and head to the moon...and once they land, they head out, but out pops Rydia and Rosa! Cecil doesn't look too pleased to see them, but Rosa just cares about being with him, no matter what happens.

Awwww.

Well hell, 5 people is always better than 3, so take them and make your way to the Crystal Palace!

46. Crystal Palace to the Lunar Subterranae

Making your way into the caves and through the passages, get to the Palace, and use the healing spots to heal. I strongly advise you to be near level 60 now, as the enemies in the Lunar Subterranae are VERY strong. I would go so far to recommend your levels be near 65 or 70, even. Head past FuSoYa's throne and into the Crystal Room, where all of the Moon Crystals have opened the way to Zemus. Talk to all them to learn about the protective field and how it's been removed due to the destruction of the Tower and Giant of Bab-il. Now, stand in the center, and the Crystals will light your way to the center of the moon....the lights flash different colors, and a force will sweep Cecil and party from the Crystal Palace to the opening floor of the Lunar Subterranae. This is it, there's no looking back now!

47. Lunar Subterranae and Moon's Core

From where you appear, go to the left through a hidden passage and to the portal, and go through the door in front where you appear. Head left and enter the next portal, then go down and go in the door. You should now be on the 3rd floor, and in sight of a sword. Go and talk to it and you'll stir up a BOSS FIGHT!!!

32,768 HP White Dragon

Have Rosa cast Float on everyone, then that will keep them out of range of the Quake spell and just keep healing away. Rydia should summon Bahamut, Edge and Cecil attack, and Kain jump. Every attack on him will provoke a Slow casted on your members. Watch out for the Malestrom attack and just keep the HP up. For winning this fight you'll receive the Murasame for Edge.

Now, head back to where you first entered the Lunar Subterranae and from here, head up and to the right and into the secret passage and from here go all the way up, left, and down to find another treasure chest. Kill the enemies and get a DarkGear for Edge. Now head back around and go down into the next room. The chest on the left past the hidden passage has a FireWhip for Rydia, give it to her and head up and to the left, to get a Dragon Shield for Kain. You'll see a middle door, but don't enter yet. Move down and to the right through a hidden passage to grab a Dragon Helmet, further down is a Dragon Armor and to the left of that is a Dragon Glove. Give all these to Kain and head into the middle door. In this room pick up a set of Artemis Arrows from the right chest and head into the lower left room, which will have an Elixir. Back out, head right and down to the next room. In here, go up and to the left and around to the next door. Go for the chest with the Stardust Rod, but a Behemoth blocks the way. Kill him and give the rod to Rosa. Keep going to the right and to the pathway. To the right, you'll see a sword, but it's unreachable. Don't worry, we'll come back to it in a bit. Further down and to the left is another treasure chest. Give Rosa a bow and the Artemis Arrows. Open the chest and a Red Dragon along with a Blue Dragon will attack, but with the Artemis Arrows, Bahamut, Cecil and Edge's attacks, Kain's Jumping, and Rosa's Aim enhancement, the dragons will go down soon enough. Now, you've won the Crystal Shield. Cecil should equip this and move on. Head for the door at the bottom of the cave. In here, head to the right and take out the Behemoth guarding the chest, which has Crystal Armor. Again, give to Cecil. Now, go back in the room and head up and to the chest on the right. 2 Red Dragons are here, and they're guarding the Crystal Gauntlet. Cecil will equip this and head left into the next room. In here, you'll find a White Gown for Rosa, as well as a Crystal Helmet guarded by a D. Bone and a Wizard. Head to the room on the right. In here you'll find a Red Fang, take it and keep moving. In the next room to the left are a set of more Artemis Arrows. Head down in here to grab a Cabin, then head further down and to the right. There is a Minerva Robe guarded by 3 Karys and a Wizard, dispatch of them and continue. Move down and to the right, and go in the first door.

Yay!

It's a save point, and lord knows you've needed this, so use that Cabin and save your game. Now, head to the right and into the next room. You'll see a long weapon, touch it to set off this BOSS FIGHT!!!

34,000 HP Plague

He'll start the battle off with CountDown, which will give your party until the count of 10 to either die or kill him. Whee. Kain jumps, Cecil fights, Edge fights,Rydia calls Bahamut or uses Flare, and Rosa uses Holy. Hopefully, you'll kill him before the counter runs out. If not, and assuming you saved in the room prior, just try again. Defeating him gives you the HolyLance for Kain.

I advise you to return to the save spot and save your game again. Now, head out the room and to the right to the door past the Plague's Room. In here, once you walk in, you're beset by two Lunar Dragons, who are none too pleased to give you what you seek, so beat it out of them...yep, BOSS FIGHT!!!

24,000 HP Lunar Dragons

Attack with all you can, and have Rydia use Fire3. These critters like to use Wall on themselves, then bounce Bio off it and onto you! Don't use summon magic, as any summons seem to heal them, even Bahamut. Bummer. Just keep fighting, keep the BLACK MAGE VIOLENCE coming, and those all important HP's up. For winning, you'll have access to the two Ribbons. Give these to Rydia and Rosa and head back to save your game.

Now that you're rested and refreshed...remember that sword that was unreachable back a ways? Whatsay we go get it now? Yea! Backtrack your steps to the room where you got the Cabin in the lower left. In here, to the left of the chest is an invisible bridge. Go to the left and near the top in the middle of the wall is a staircase. This room is B6 and at the bottom you'll find a Golden Apple. Take it and continue to the right towards the portal. Head up the walkway into the next portal. Now, you're in B5. Head up into the next portal, which throws you into a save room. Rest and save your game, trust me. In the next area, you'll be near the sword that you saw earlier. Trying to grab it, provokes someone who's really pissed that you're trying to take this sword, and draws you into a BOSS FIGHT!!

61,000 HP Wyvern

This evil incarnation of Bahamut starts off the battle with the MegaFlare, without asking, without countdown. Crap. Most likely, unless you're near level 65 or 70, he'll take out one or more of your members. Then, he casts Wall on himself and bounces Flare attacks off him and onto you. Whee. Have Edge throw whatever he can, Cecil fight, Kain jump, Rydia attack with the Dragon Whip and Rosa show that WHITE MAGE GOODNESS by keeping the HP up for everyone. This is NOT an easy battle, but can be won. For winning this fight, you'll receive the Ragnarok Sword, the strongest weapon in the game.

Now, head back to the save point, save, then make your way back to the save room near where you won the HolyLance. From the save point, feel free to rest and save again if need be, but then head left, up, and to the right, and a bit down to the opening in the wall. Going in here will take you to the Moon's Core!

This room is made of nothing but Crystal. Ooh. All of the battles you run into here are all with Behemoths, Red and Blue Dragons, Evil Masks, Minds, and Breaths. Yay. There is hope....when in battle, just have Edge cast Smoke and you'll run from the battle. It's the only way, really. If you fight, just fight as you have and you'll gain good levels here. Now, grab any and all chests you see, they will consist of Shuriken and Fuuma darts and the odd Elixir or two. Now, make your way down and to the center towards the ladder to the next floor...but OOH there's a floating sword!

Now, how old are we? Haven't we learned by now that whenever you see floating swords, most likely they belong to someone (always a dragon or lizard of some sort, no less) and don't want them to be taken, and when YOU, the player, decide to be EVIL and take their sword, what happens? Yea, that's right, you get into a BOSS FIGHT and end up FIGHTING! Come on now, FIGHTING never solves ANYTHING! Of course, when you get the sword in your hands, you can inflict more damage, and that in turn allows you to kill quickly and efficiently, and that's........EVIL.

INDEEEEEEEED.

So, head over to that floating sword, and someone tells you that you can't touch the Blade of Black...and all of a sudden the water gathers, revealing the evil twin of Leviathan...and my personal hero...Ogopogo! BOSS FIGHT!!!

50,001 HP Ogopogo

He doesn't play around - starts right off with a double Big Wave taking off a good 1200-1500 of HP. And he'll also use the Big Wave in single fashions to shave off a good 500-700 HP as well. Edge should alternate between Blitz and attacking and throwing, Rydia should summon Bahamut and cast Flare, Cecil fights, Kain jumps, and Rosa calls on Holy as well as keeping the HP up. Soon enough, Ogopogo will submit (GO OGOPOGO!) and you'll receive the Masamune as a prize.

Head around and to the ladder, then head down. Keep heading down to the next portal while grabbing the chests in the area. In this new room, the portal is on the lower right, so head there. Now, there are no chests in this last area...just head towards the portal, on the lower left.

---The Final Battle---

Now, do check your levels before heading up to where the game takes over the story...I advise you to be at level 60 or higher. It's possible to finish the game at level 50, but is very difficult. In any event, proceed up and you'll see Golbez and FuSoYa having it out with Zemus. After casting a few spells, they will call upon the W. Meteo and decimate Zemus...who falls over.

Game Over!

Edge surprises them, and they talk about how Zemus was a good man, but stained with evil...and Cecil is still hesistant to talk to his brother...but not before Zemus stirs again...and becomes the epitome of evil and hate, Zeromus! He shocks everyone into submission, but Golbez and FuSoYa confront him in another battle. They use Meteo, they use everything at their disposal, but Zeromus shrugs it off. Golbez then uses the Crystal...but it's no use, because Golbez's Darkness eclipses the Crystal's light...and Zeromus uses his own Meteo and downs the uncle and his nephew. Zeromus is now in control, and will drag the world into eternal darkness...

...but this doesn't sit well with the twins, who along with the Mysidian Elder and everyone in the Praying Tower, begin to pray for Cecil and for the Moon to show it's power...and this brings Cecil to his feet, who goes over to his brother, Golbez. Golbez gives you the Crystal...now go to Zeromus and KICK HIS ASS!!!

110,000 HP Zeromus

WHOA that background is dizzying! The various friends in your quest will give you their life, strength, vitality, and hope, completely restoring your HP and MP and curing status effects. Once this is passed, and your party is ready to go, DO NOT FIGHT! Nothing will affect him in this big blue state...so keep parrying until Edge can steal a Dark Matter from him. You'll need this later, trust me. Now, have Cecil use the Crystal, which will break Zeromus' effect.....but revealing his true form, this big nasty monster that needs the righteus hell beat out of him! Zeromus has a myriad of spells that he uses, most often being Flare and Meteo, but they don't do the big damage one would expect, but his Flare can be crippling. More devastating is the Big Bang, where Zeromus changes the spin of the world and causes great damage to everyone in the process. However, if you have the Dark Matter like you should, this won't be too much of a problem. Now, Rosa can cast Haste on Cecil, Kain, and Edge to speed up their attacks. After this, she should do nothing but alternate with Holy on Zeromus and Cure4 over the party. Rydia should alternate casting Flare, and summoning Bahamut. Edge should throw whatever he can throw, especially swords and the Spoon Dart, if you have it. When he's out of things to throw, keep attacking normally. Kain should do nothing more than jump and jump and keep jumping. Cecil should keep attacking with the Crystal Sword. All I can say is, keep the HP's up with Rosa, and use Elixirs whenever necessary. This will take a while, but soon enough the lightning will flash, and Zeromus will begin his dissapation into nothingness.

Congratulations, you've done it! Now, sit back and enjoy the lengthy ending.
