Fresh FF13 Info from Famitsu

April 14, 2009

With the demo that is bundled with Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children Complete almost landing in the laps of the Japanese public, Japanese magazine Famitsu reveal some last bits of information to the public about the game and what to expect from the demo.

Famitsu reveal that items will be locked in the demo and players will not be able to equip or unequip items. Magic will be fully available for use in the demo but in the same section of the final product magic will not be available.

In the demo, attacks by other party members will be fully automatic, but in the final game players will have some control over them using an as-yet unrevealed method.

The ability for characters to jump on the field is limited to certain spots, which are marked as 'jump points.' There are also two different fields in the demo. In some fields, battle encounters will be random.

The magazine also teases that some aspects of the game are quite similar to Tetsuya Nomura's DS RPG sleeper hit 'The World Ends With You'.

The victory fanfare included in the demo isn't the final one as previously reported, and was omitted because the final fanfare doesn't fit the tone of the demo. It is likely that all the game's battle music will be composed by Masashi Hamauzu, not Nobuo Uematsu, who is only composing the main theme.

Within the story, Sazh's personality is revealed as the magazine reveals he gets punched by Lightning for attempting to touch her and jumping on her. He's dubiously referred to as the 'first' character to do this, so it seems throughout the game Lightning will find herself spurning men's advances.
