FF13 Composer Leaves Square Enix
January 20, 2010
Masashi Hamauzu, the man behind the soundtrack of Final Fantasy XIII, has left Square Enix according to a report by Square Enix Music Online.
He follows in the footsteps of Final Fantasy veterans Nobuo Uematsu and Kenchiro Fukui in leaving the company, and is allegedly one of many depatures to come.
Many of Square Enix's most notable soundtracks are now being produced by freelance composers outside of the company. Final Fantasy XIV's soundtrack is in the works at Nobuo Uematsu's record label Smile Please, while Final Fantasy Versus XIII is being completed by freelancer Yoko Shimomura.
We'll bring you the latest on the continued shuffles in the music department as and when we get it.
