Final Fantasy classics deeply discounted on PlayStation Network

| January 25, 2012

Sony's January PlayStation Network store sale is continuing with a few new additions this week in Europe. Us Final Fantasy fans are in for a quite the treat with classic titles in the series and newer releases both available at a pretty deep discount for a limited time to celebrate the impending launch of XIII-2.

PS1 classics Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX are all now £3.99/€4.99 each instead of £7.99/€9.99, whilst the PS1 ports of Final Fantasy I, II, V and VI are all also dropped to the same price. The PSP's Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions has also been cut to the same price - quite the discount for a game that only launched a few years. ago.

Other PSP releases get discounts, too - Dissidia: Final Fantasy is down to £9.99/€11.99 (was £14.99/€24.99), Dissidia 012: Duodecim comes in at £13.99/€17.99 (was £27.99/€34.99) and the Prologue chapter of the game Prologus is discounted to a tiny £1.19/€1.49 (was Was £2.39/€2.99).

The sale collection is rounded out by Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection, which includes a newly ported and improved version of Final Fantasy IV, sequel The After Years and an exclusive chapter that sits between the two. That's down to £13.99/€17.99, and was £27.99/€34.99.

PlayStation Plus members get a further 10% discount off the prices quoted above, too, and can pick up the hugely underrated Final Fantasy V for free.

This basically means every single major Final Fantasy title from I to IX excluding III is available super cheap right now. The PS1 releases are playable on PS3, PSP and soon PlayStation Vita, whilst the PSP titles will also work on the Vita when it launches. Get moving, then! These deals are available for a limited time only!

Why would he be pissed just bcsauee it's a Baldur's Gate ripoff? If the game is good i don't care if it rips off every western rpg out there. It's LoTR, it's really hard to make something with that setting that is completely new and fresh. Baldur's Gate has a working format if they make a good game that is similar to it then what the hell is the problem? It's not like there's too many of them in new gen gaming.
