1 million copies of FF13 shipped in Japan
December 15, 2009
Square Enix have confirmed to Japanese media that 1 million copies of Final Fantasy XIII will be available on day one, with a further 300,000 copies available over the the rest of its launch week.
This makes for an overall shipment of 1.3 million copies of the game in Japan in its first week alone.
Demand for the game has been such that
Amazon Japan have stopped taking preorders
, hinting at overall shortages. This may not be surprising when it's noted that Square Enix shipped 2 million copies of FF12 for launch.
